SOURCE: ford galaxy central loking failure problem?

Hi kifixya!

The doors lock automatically at road speed and must be unlocked with the unlock switch before they will open (with the exception of the driver's door). This is how they were designed to work.

To unlock all doors with the remote keyless entry, hit the button twice (like double-clicking a mouse); the first unlocks the driver's door; the second push unlocks the remaining doors.

Hope this answers your request, andgood luck!

SOURCE: land rover discovery central locking.

No, likely to be caused by the actuators in the lock mechanism failing usually causing the door to remain locked. The boor door can also fail this way, as do the front side doors. Replacement requires the whole lock unit to be replaced at a cost of roughly £60 a lock, and a hours work. Helps if you have small hands. Requires a full strip down of the door and you will need the lock unit, trim clips (a few quid) and a trim removal tool (tenner). You can bodge with a flat head screwdriver, but the tool does help prevent damage to the clips & trim panel.

SOURCE: I have a 1997 boxster and the central locking does

I connected a cigarette lighter (male on both sides) between my car and another car. Do not start the car, just wait until the battery has a little charge. The front bonnet should open allowing you to replace the battery. You will need to recode the radio (http://www.a2dvoices.com/realitycheck/porsche/ )

Alternative: Some newer boxsters have a red power post new the fuse box.

Sliding side door will not lock

Ok, I had this problem on an 03 Transit connect and it was the actual solenoid in the locking mechanism that had given up the ghost. I removed the unit by taking the inner door panel off. Then unhinging the back of the sliding door near the guide rail side, just to so I could get in closer. Pull the plastic manual locking lever out and undo the three torx screws by the actual lock. The unit comes out as a block and I tested the central locking and the solenoid did nothing. I took the block with me just as a comparison and went down to the local scrappy and got another unit for £20. Probably an hour and a half to do the job but money well spent IMO.
NB; check the central locking plug and socket that marry up when the door is shut are in good order as things can get slammed in there and damage it. The socket is located on the rear door post around passengers seat level height and the plug to your right in the sliding door. A quick check could save you and hour and a half and £20 ;-). Hope this helps.

Just got a ford ka as the ford ka got cental locking

Hello,

Yes the ford has a central locking system, you can do that with your remote, and can do it when inside the car, the button is by the door which is at the driver side. You will see the central lock button, but central lock wont work if a door is open.

Take care and good luck

Central locking in my bmw 320 diesel isnt working it wont open the doors but it will start the engine , the spare key is the same so its not the battery of the keys

Providing central locking works when you insert key in lock, try programming keys
Enter car make sure all doors/windows are shut
Switch ignition on and off, remove key
PRESS AND HOLD UNLOCK BUTTON ON KEY
Press lock button on key 3 times whithin 10 seconds and release unlock
Central locking will lock/unlock rapidly to confirm reset
If your key is the type with bmw logo in the middle battery replacement is not possible,as it charges as you drive

CENTRAL LOCKING ON 99 T REG FORD ESCORT

Some of the Escorts do not have central locking. If the keys open both front doors, the hatch and fit the ignition then I would not worry too much about it. You may find that you also have a hatch release catch at the side of the drivers seat also. I trust this information helps you.
