Question about 2008 BMW 528i Sedan
I have a 99 528i, the front door handle on the driver side started sticking recently and now I can't open the door from the outside or the inside. I feel like if I pull the handle (inside or outside) too hard I will snap it. I have the door handle replaced about a year ago because it snapped after sticking sorta the same way it is now.Why does this happen to the door handles and how can I prevent it in the future?
To be honest i would need the car in front of me to diagnose correctly but from the sound of it the mechanism inside the door is worn, the lever that springs open the jaws has worn to the extent that it will not push the two contacts inside the lock open to allow the door pawl to swivel around releasing the door.Only way is too remove the door trim if you can and operate the mechanism with a big screwdriver to open the door then renew the mechanism
