Question about 1996 Buick Regal Olympic Gold
I have a 98 gmc sierra 4x4 with a 5.7L i recently changed my ignition switch and now that i put all together my truck starts then it turns off immediatly, and my security light is flashing.
Per your description, it sounds like you change the lock cylinder. That cylinder has a specific code associated with it. When you insert the key, the code is sent to the security system to verify it is the correct key and cylinder.
You will have to relearn the system to accept the new cylinder.
Insert the key and turn it to the run position. Leave the key on for 10 minutes, turn off the ignition and repeat 2 more cycles of 10 minutes each. This will relearn the new security code and you should be OK at that point.
Good luck and let me know.
