Lets hope the timing belt didn't break! If it turns over very fast and kind of sounds like a sewing machine, this is probably the problem. If it is, big repair bill! If it cranks over and sounds like a normal engine that just isn't starting, there are a number of possibilities. Start by checking for spark. Get a spare spark plug and insert it into one of the plug leads and hold the threaded portion of the plug on a good ground. Have someone crank the engine over while you watch for spark. No spark means you have to check the entire ignition system. If you have spark, then you probably have a fuel problem, you can crack a line at the filter to see if fuel comes out when the engine cranks. No fuel means you may have a bad pump. If you do have fuel at the filter, you can use a stethoscope to listen to the fuel injectors, to make sure they are clicking when the engine is being cranked over. No clicking could mean a computer problem.

Ok, since its an automatic, try starting the car in neutral. If it starts, its the neutral safety switch. If not I will need some clarification on mileage, spark, and fuel so we can go from there.

2003 Honda civic coupe stuck in park, with no power at all when key turned in ignition. The battery is not depleted and the starter was replaced within this year. Please help!

First thing you need to do is male sure your battery connections are good. I'd they. Are then move on to having the battery check. These cars won't come out of park with a dead or low battery. Hope this helps.

1992 Honda Accord having problems with the shift lock. Must put key in key port by shifter to get out of park. But now, after disconnecting and reconnecting battery to change headlamp, it simply won't...

The neutral safety switch at your shift lock needs to be replaced. It is broken so the circuit loop for the starter is open. Therefore no solenoid click to engage the starter. Part is not expensive around $45, but labor may cost more. Here is how it looks: feb3fbc.jpg

Where is the starter relay on a 94 Honda Accord

Yes, it sounds like your solenoid is bad and staying engaged against the flywheel, you could do an amperage draw and a voltage drop test to find out for sure, but you will need an DVOM and a amp clamp. Or you could take it into an auto parts store and they will test it for free. Hope this helps.

1992 honda accord wagon lx 4cyl. battery good all lights, radio work when i turn the key on but when i try to start nothing, no noise nothing, can u help?

It's probably the starter or cable to the starter. If you can get to it check it with a voltmeter while someone turns the key to engage the starter motor. If you have 12volts DC and it doesn't turn it is the starter.Good luck...

My honda accord 1996 lx won't start

Your starter bendix isnt engaging, if your replace your starter your problem should go away. The rappid ( firing ) you are hearing is the starter spinning but the bendix isnt moving out and engaging the flywheel.

Most honda have a Shift Lock hole next to the shifter, looks like a key hole, put the key in the hole and the shifter should be able to release.
