You need to see what code is stored in the Traction control system. Hold down the (off) and (warmer) buttons on the temp control until the vehicle goes into self-diagnostics. Then wait until it gives you TCS codes and write them down. Shut the ignition off to exit self-diagnostics.

The tractoin control is also tied in with your ABS system. Not to say this is your problem but it could be as simple as a bad wheel speed senor. There are 4 on your vehicle one at each wheel.

It may be a wheel speed sensor at fault.
To be quite honest, you'd have to get it checked at the dealership or a workshop which has the correct scan tools.

Why does my ABS light stays on and sometimes i get a vibration in the brake petal causing my 2002 Cadillac escalade not wanting to stop?

Sounds like a fault with the Antilock Braking System. The vibration in the pedal is the ABS working. With your foot on the brake pedal, it releases and re-applies the brakes to stop a skid from the wheels locking up. You need professional service for brakes.

Seems to be a known issue on all Cadillac and requires the ABS module to be replaced.

I have a 2001 Cadillac Deville with the ABS and Traction Control light stay on. What is the problem. Could I reset the ABS and Traction Control light? If so how could I reset ? Larry

Hello: There are many things that will cause the lights to come on. You can check the brake fluid if it is low that will cause the light to come on. you can clear the code with a up scale scanner but if the problem is not corrected the light will come back on.

Traction control light comes on when wheels are not skidding

the major difference in the tire size is enough to cause the traction control to activate the car sees a speed difference between the front and rear tires and thinks it is slipping it will continue until you replace the other two tires

My traction control light comes on all by itself on dry pavement and then my digital speedometer goes crazy from 35 mph to 150 mph and everything inbetween. it will do this for miles and then straighten...

I'm begining to think the problem is related to erroneous speedometer input data, ( could even be a trans speed sensor, or the speedo itself ) which falsely makes the TRACTION CONTOL SYSTEM think the drive wheels are actually SPINNING, and losing traction, causing the light to appear. Hopes this helps

Traction control

Traction Control system adjusts your throttle and braking automatically to help keep your car from slipping on wet/snowy roads. If the light flashes momentarily then that means it is doing the job properly. If the light flashes constantly or stays on then it indicates a problem with the traction control or ABS system and could pose a safety concern.

I have a 96 cadillac deville and the traction control light stays on.

The starting problem may be the fuel pressure regulator. Remove the small tube from the back of the fuel pressure regulator with the motor running, and if fuel comes out it's bad. The part is under fifty bucks at autozone. I did mine, and now it starts normally.

As far as the traction control light, it could be anything from a wheel sensor to the EBTCM, or a bad wiring connection anywhere inbetween.
