I have a 2004 GMC Yukon Denali and have the same problem. Have to put gas in very very slow. Takes forever to fill it up.

2004 Yukon 5300 - Gas will not go in the gas tank.  The gas pump shuts off every time I try to squeeze the handle on the nozzle.  Gas will go in only very slowly.  Sounds like this is a venting issue in the tank and there is a gas tank pressure sensor or vent that might need to be replaced?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Supposed to hiss. There is a pressure sensor on the tank which when bad willl let you know there is a problem. That is why there is usually a warning about fuel spray on the gas cap/lid.

hi
I think you have problem in fuel tank ventilation the (EVAP) system do to ventilate the fuel tank and pull up fuel vapor to the engine
may be there is blocked pipe or electrical fault in valve (EVAP system) in engine room

No pressure in gas tank when the cap is opened.

I am not sure I understan tghe question. You should not have a lot of pressure in the tank. There are hoses that capture any vapors that are in the tank and eleviate pressure build up.
Most often I have found the engine light on because of gas tank vent, such as loose
or bad gas cap or the vent valve stuck open. The computer does a cycle ever so often
and maintains the vent pressure build up in the gas tank and vapor canister, and if the purge valve sticks open the computer gives a check engine light and code as the pressure is not in the vapor storage tank when called for.
If your worried about no pressure at all then I would change the gas cap and see if this helps

Gas tank making loud whinning noise when i take the gas cap off. what could be the problem?

assuming from the noise i am assuming your opening the gas cap while the engine is running. that noise your are hearing is prob the fuel pump. your really not supposed to open the gas cap while the engine is running. pressure is needed inside the gas tank for everything to work properly. after a while of doing so you may get a emissions code for either a small or a large leak. i recommend when pumping gas to shut the engine off to eliminate any future problems that could happen.

The "Check Engine" light is always on and a mechanic ran diagnostic. It was getting a "P0456" code. I checked the gas cap and still problem persists. What do I need to replace now?

The problem with these complex systems is they are nearly impossible to maintain.
The implication is that you have a leak in the gas tank vent.
You could try to find it by pressuring the gas tank with some compressed air, and listening around for hissing.
But it could be the purge valve vaccum sensor is bad.
The best thing to do actually is manually disable the purge valve sensor, plug the purge valve line to the manifold, and allow the vent to open air.

Code PO 446

ONE COMMON PROBLEM THEY HAVE IS THE GAS CAP IS LOOSE OR DOES NOT SEAL PROPERLY... THIS CODE INDICATES A LEAKS IN THE EVAP SYSTEM..BACK IN THE SEVENTIES WHEN YOU PULLED OF THE GAS CAP ON A HOT DAY IN SUMMER YOU WOULD HEAR IT HISS FROM PRESSURE.. NOW THEY REGULATE THE PRESSURE ON THE GAS TANK AND ASSY... USUALLY ONLY A POUND OR SO...TRY TO REPLACE GAS CAP WITH ONE FROM DEALER ONLY THEN RESET CODES AND SEE IF IT RETURNS.. LET ME KNOW

I CAN HEAR A HISSING SOUND BY THE FUEL CAP AFTER I TURN OFF MY TRUCK

If you hear a hissing sound from the gas cap then the o ring that seals the tank is either cracked or tore. the tank has to build up pressure. thats where u r hearing the hissing sound replace it, it should stop after.
