Stay in the Car! LOL you have a problem with your power steering system. 1st Check your fluid level. 2nd check the belt. If you discover everything is ok, replace the power steering pump. That should fix it, however, if you still experience a problem, it will be in your rack and pinion. If you replace the rack and pinion you would want to change the pump anyway so no harm done. Good luck

Its really hard to turn the steering wheel in 1995 cadillac deville. there is power steering fluid in the car. what could be causing this?

If your Rack and Pinion is worn it could do this, if the Fluid is OLD, it could also do that. How much Power Steering is there? Did you hit anything? Could your have bent a Control Arm or Tie Rod End or could the Power Steering Pump just have gone out? Remove the Cap and see if there is Air Bubbles and Movement inside your Pump Reservoir? Are you sure you are checking the Right Reservoir? Any of the above could be the cause.

How do I know if my ignition switch is bad on my 1995 jeep grand cherokee lerado 5.2 liter

The ignition switch does not usually go bad on Grand Cherokees but the ignition key cylinder does and it usually just stop turning, stuck in place. Key cylinder can be removed by taking the steering wheel off to access the little clip that's holding the key cylinder in place, inside the steering column.

This is most likely the power steering pump that you hear. Check the fluid level to be sure it is full. If the fluid is full then the pump is going out. Hope this helps. Good luck.

There is a hole right on top of the power steering pressure hose in my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It squirts fluid up visibly when the engine is on and the wheels are turned. How do I replace this hose?...

Mark the hose at the pump so you'll know which end goes there on the new one. Take the old one with you to compare to the new one. Be sure to thread and tighten carefully. When filling the resevoir, pour a little in, leave the cap off, turn the steering wheel both ways to the stop. This bleeds the air out of the system. Be sure not to over fill or you will blow seals. If when you turn the wheel after the repair is made it is very hard to turn the wheel one way and easy the other way, then your hose is reversed.
