96 Dodge Ram 1500 wiring diagram for headlights.

We've replaced the relay switch & bought new headlights- yet the headlights still won't work. Anybody out there have an idea where we can get a free diagram for the schematics?I have the same problem. No head lights or high beams. I replaced switch and lights with no luck.

Here's a link to a pdf file containing the headlight wiring diagram for your year model Dodge Ram 1500..
I can't help but notice that you say you've replaced the headlight relay? That's quite odd, because there is NO headlight relay on this vehicle- only a 40 amp fuse located in the power distribution box that sits behind the battery inside the engine bay.
The switch is notorious for burning out because there is NO RELAY on this vehicle, and there is a recall (#819) but this only affects 3500 models even though the headlight wiring is the same for 1500,2500 and 3500 model Rams.
Here are two more links that will help you troubleshoot your headlights problems.

This will need a hands on inspection by a qualified mechanic. i suggest the Kia dealership, but at a minimum it needs to go to a different shop than the one you've been taking it to as they seem to not know what they're doing.

My instrument cluster background light and running tail lights are out.

I had a problem with my 95 Dakota with the headlights(they would go out intermittently,REAL fun on a pitch black stretch of road!).I found that wiggling the knob made them come back on.I bought a new switch, but when I went to replace it,I found one of the connector terminals was loose, and it melted the connector body.Since the switch had common sized male quick-disconnect type terminals,I just drilled out the body and used a female quick disconnect to repair it(you won't see it after putting the dash back together anyway).Check the connector,do a "drag test on the connector pins if you can't see anything obvious(use a male terminal pin to see if any female connector terminals feel loose).

2004 envoy xuv low beams went out all other lights work checked fuses and switched relays 45 and 46 and still not working any ideas?

Try to see if the bulbs blew out by replacing the bulbs first. If they still won't light, it could be bad grounds or connections or bad continuity in the wiring to the headlight relays or switch. Good luck on this repair.

On the van you have a high beam fuse and relay. On the low beam you also have a fuse and relay. Check the fuse/relay panel for a blown fuse controlling the low beam lights. If you do not find a blown fuse have some one to turn the key on and turn on the high beam lights> During this time locate the low beam headlight relay and place your finger on top of relay, have the other person to switch from high beam to low beam lights. You should feel a click in the relay when they make the switch from high to low beam. If not replace the relay and the problem should go away. Hope this will help you.

What started this mess? tailights, fog lights, brake lights....

The relay has nothing to do with the tail lights, but replacing the switch sounds like a good idea. There's a nut holding it in place, see http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts/electrics/switches/switch-headlight/1027524/ to get an idea of the construction. And the price. This is not worth fiddling about unreliable workarounds...
In addition, if fuses 15 and/or 16 burn frequently there might be a problem with the tail light cabling.

Good luck

Check to see if you have power to them with a test light. If yopu do, replace bulbs, if you don't check ground wire and circuit breaker.
