I had this happen to a Jeep Cherokee. It could be water or something in the gas line. After time, it eventually ran great again, once it burned off the "bad gas" or what not. If you go to a local autopart store, you can find additives for your gas.

When this happened to me, I tried spark plugs, spark plug wires, and even the fuel pump. None of which solved my problem.

When giving my 1995 GMC Sierra gas when the light goes green it falls plum on its face like its overloaded with fuel but feather the gas pedal it clears up and runs fine anyone have any ideas. Done...

Have the fault codes read. Replace the faulty units with
genuine one because most aftermarket units are not set for OEM cpu units and are not completely compatible.. Check for mass air flow sensor fault.

Why my car has the spark plugs like too much gas

you don`t give to much info on your problem.are the plugs black/sooted or are they fuel fouled with unburnt old are the plugs and are they properly gapped.the ignition wires may be no good and need replacing.has the fuel system been cleaned like the injectors.they may be dirty and allowing too much fuel into the combustion don`t say what type of car you have so systems are different on different could have a bad sensor like a throttle postion sensor(tps),mass airflow sensor(maf),manifold air pressure sensor(map)so maybe you should have the computer(ecm) checked for codes and have the data looked at on a scan tool.some suggestions to try.

Car had the maf sensor replaced but is still hesitating on takeoff after car has set, even for short stops like to the grocery store. I'm thinking fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs and/or injectors....

You have a misfire whether it is from the coil or spark plug boot a full tune up with plug and wires and maybe even ignition coil (coils due short out)cansmo_69.gifcansmo_70.gif

When im going down the road my 2004 pontiac hesitates you have to give it more gas

tune up, maintenance and likely an air filter required
Most new vehiclwes have a hesitation but if it is a definite lag then try the above

Missfiring of engine

Cleaning plugs is not enough you will have to replace them. Ensure that they are the correct type of spark plug for the engine also, Don't try and skimp to save money because it will cost you alot more further down the track if the incorrect plugs are fitted. Get your High Tension Leads(Spark plug leads) checked as well,
Check that your air filter is clean also, if not replace this if it hasn't been done recently....last 10,000 km.

Another thing to have checked as well is the Oxygen sensor this maybe faulty.
And lastly have your cold start tempreture sensor checked this maybe faulty. Start with the plugs first then work your way through it. Hope this helps, let me know how you get on.

Alt seems ok but strong fuel smell and new plugs black

use a scanner sound like a bad sensor .mass air flow - map sensor - coolant sensor. check vacuum line to fuel pressure regulator if wet with gas replace fuel pressure regulator. make sure yours spark pluge the right heat range. also change air filter. check charcoal canister. check oxygen sensor and egr valve. make sure its not stuck open.
