Was the coolant & oil mixed when drained? Definitely change the oil too. Check the plugs, fuel psi & volume last but not least heads & gaskets.

The oil light sensor in my 1998 Mazda 626 is faulty. My mechanic says it is not worth spending the money to replace it. Can you tell me how to locate and disable it?

I don't know what your car is worth but the oil sensor runs about $9.00 and labor to install the new part is .6 of an hr to replace, you might want to find a new mechanic, also you need your oil light to work just like your temp. light or gauge those are two thing will kill an engine if you don't know what's going on. Good luck
