Hi, this is not good. if its a standard 5 or 6 speed transmission, this is the throw out bearings and it will need service quickly. if your transmission is an automatic style, you may not have any fluid and the roaring is coming from the torque converter. i would take this car to the dealership for a quick look at this tranny. this is very serious.

That kind of noise is the result of a failed bearing, this is a manual trans? or auto? have u noted fluid under the car? in any event the bearing is still the most likely issue, isn't this still under warranty, this is a powertrain issue, 7-70,000 miles correct.

How/Where do I chek my transmission fluid?

YOUR TRANSMISSION DONT HAVE TRANSMISSION DIP STICK YOU HAVE A LEVEL CHECK PLUG ON BACK SIDE OF OIL PAN YOU NEED A SCREW DRIVER TO PRY OUT LEVEL CHECK PLUG.WITH ENGINE RUNNING FLUID TEMPERATURE 95 TO 113 DEGREES. IF FLUID COMES OUT SMALL DRIPS FLUID LEVEL OKAY.IF FLUID POURS OUT CHECK HOLE YOU HAVE TOO MUCH FLUID IN TRANSMISSION. IF NO FLUID COMES OUT CHECK HOLE.ADD A PINT OF FLUID AT A TIME SO YOU WONT OVERFILL TRANSMISSION. YOU NEED A NEW CHECK PLUG O - RING. IF YOU REUSE THE OLD O-RING YOU WILL HAVE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK.DONT REMOVE CHECK LEVEL PLUG UNTIL YOU HAVE PLENTY TRANSMISSION FLUID ON HAND AND A NEW CHECK PLUG O- RING THE DEALERSHIP HAVE IT.

My tranny slips some times but it will catch after a few min

SOUND LIKE TRANSMISSION FLUID LOW OR YOU NEED A TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER CHANGE.THE 4T40E OR 4T45E IF YOU DONT SEE TRANSMISSION DIP STICK.BEST TO DO A FILTER AND FLUID CHANGE.YOU NEED 7 QUARTS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID A NEW TRANSMISSION FILTER AND PAN GASKET.I WOULD BUY FILTER AND PAN GASKET AT DEALERSHIP.YOU NEED A LARGE DRAIN PAN TO CATCH TRANSMISSION FLUID.IF YOU HAVE A TRANSMISSION DIP STICK. BEFORE YOU FIRST BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL ON DIP STICK.SHOULD BE ON THE FULL MARK.IF NOT ADD FLUID TO FULL MARK.THEN CRANK VECHICLE LET IDLE UNTIL ENGINE HOT OPERATION TEMPERATURE ABOUT 10 MINUTES.THEN APPLY BRAKE PEDAL.THEN SLOWLY SHIFT TRANSMISSION SHIFTER THROUGH ALL GEARS 2 TIMES.THEN PUT TRANSMISSION IN PARK.CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL.IF NOT AT FULL MARK ADD TRANSMISSION FLUID UNTIL LEVEL CORRECT.

WHERE IS THE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK LOCATED ON A 1998 CHEVY CAVALIER? WANTED TO CHECK THE FLUID LEVEL

DONT HAVE ONE WHERE DIP STICK USE TO BE IS A RED VENT FILL CAP THATS WHERE YOU POUR TRANSMISSION FLUID. BUT THE TRANSMISSION WAS MADE FOR DEALERSHIP TO CHECK.THEY HAVE TO RAISE VECHICLE LEVEL AND ON THE TRANSAXLE HOUSING THERE IS A CHECK PLUG ITS LOCATION ITS ABOVE THE OIL PAN DRAIN PLUG.WITH VECHICLE RUNNING UP IN AIR LEVEL ON THE LIFT.THE CHECK PLUG IS REMOVED IF NO FLUID COMES OUT CHECK PLUG HOLE ADD PINT DONT OVERFILL.IF FLUID POUR TOO MUCH FLUID IN TRANSMISSION IF SLOW DRIP FLUID LEVEL CORRECT.

When i put it drive and start to roll it is making a roaring sound either from the transmissoin or the rear end

hmm it could be a bad rear differential. i dont think it has anything to do with your transmission because when they go bad they dont make a roaring sound. they just either shift hard or make a grinding noise. it could also be your power steering pump, they make a roaring sound too. well i hope this helps you :)

My transfer case is need to be repaired.

it sound like you have a broken pinion shaft in between the converter and the gears. the only solution is to have your transmission repair by reputable repair shop. but before you do that check your fluid level smell the fluid check for burned smell if it is then you really have to have to bring it to the shop for repair.
