Your engine size should be under the hood and the EGR valve is usually held on by 4 bolts and try this website for diagrams and how-to instructions: autozone.com

EGR Code

I had simular problem on 1996 Mercury Marque. Mine was stopped up exhaust port under engine heads = remove heads, clean, replace head gaskets. Also possible that you have a problem with EGR controls, that is due to bad control or vacuum hose off. What does engine analyzer say? Mine was very confusing, listed all kinds of EGR control faults.
Thanks and Good Luck,
Bill

Wanna know how to turn off check engine light. i know the problem is my egr valve.....

Your statement makes no sense & your
knowingly poluting the air

You can clear the egr code, but you
surely know it will come back & the
valve may need replacing

So just repair the car.

You can not do what your asking, until
your govt congress & senate, change
obd vehicle regulations

Low egr presure

Low pressure? Insufficient egr flow? How about plugged ports in the intake. What engine? Do you have a vacuum pump?

You have a vacuum leak. Check PCV hose on passenger rear of engine. Stuck open EGR valve can also be the cause.

Bought the part ,where does egr valve go for 2000 mercuty cougar

The egr valve is located on the intake manifold- next to the throttle cable. Has one wire coming out of the center.
Good luck and make sure you have the gasket for it.

Car wont stay on

if the car ran prior to this repair...recheck your work and see if you reconnected everything correctly.  I have feeling you left something off or you have a vacuum leak around the EGR valve.
