You have two get the correct alternater, it is presently running at full charge all the time and not regulating. If you continue to drive it this way, it will burn out more things, including the battery. To warn you, this is what causes batteries to explode, trust me, you don't want this to happen. It is possible you could get someone to wire up the alternater your using now but they will need some experience and a good diagram.

Well code 77 is nothing - you are supposed to hit the brake pedal and the gas pedal during the KOEO test. Code 77 is no movement of the gas pedal.
I guess I would start with the statement about driving it home with no problems on the battery, but problems after the alternator was installed.
Have you checked the charging system to see if it is charging around 14 volts ? It could be overcharging which would cause electrical problems.
Unless you can figure out what changed when you replaced the alternator, you will have to find out if you are dealing with a fuel problem or ignition to proceed with any troubleshooting.
Ford products are famous for ground problems. You might recheck the ground connections, especially in the engine compartment.

I ve vchanged the battery and alternator on my 94 nissan sentra and the system still wont charge what is the cause

My friend is a Honda Vehicle Technican who owns a 1994 Nissan Sentra which had kept dying on him. He had called the AAA driver who stated that the alternator was good as noted on the print out report when the AAA driver ran the check on the system. It turned the alternator was bad, which somehow also affected the starter. While the AAA driver had jump started the car, the ignition switch relay got broken; and the small positive cable connection got a short; so it all, he replaced the alternator, the starter, the battery and got a new battery cable connectors, ignition switch relay and fuse for the inside of the interior lights -- and he has no problems since after spending 4 days on this problem. It would had been easier had he had a lift and the right equipment but nevertheless he got it done but missed his work -- but at least its fixed.

Replaced battery 4 times

Hello,

there are two things involved. Its either you didn't buy an original battery or the alternator of your car is not very active.

The alternator is suppose to charge the battery, but if the alternator is not supplying full current, it won't charge the battery very well and this will make the battery run down.

I had this problem of recent and I had to change my alternator.

But note that you cannot just change the alternator. Have your alternator tested by a re-wire to confirm if its effective or not. So this will determine whether the battery is not original or if it ran down because it was not charged fully by the alternator.

Good luck.

Hi Guys,

Have you finally sorted your problems. I think it might be a faulty alternator on its way out.

Could you please be kind to let me know. I have the same problem and just need to be sure of what to do.

Your alternators should have a warranty on them...but if your car is breaking alternators, you may have the wrong size belt...maybe to small and putting to much strain on your alternator.
