High/low beam The high beams stay on and will not change back to low beam, is it the high/low beam relay and where is it. I was driving the car and went to change from high to low and it just stopped working

I checked the relay box and there isn't a relay for the hi/low headlights. Repair manual doesn't say anything helpful on the switch either.

It very possible it could be in the switch itself but check the relay first which is usually located under the hood in the relay box

it sounds to me then like the switch on the steering column and it may have to be replaced and if it does have to be replaced make sure the air bag fuse is out and unpluged so it does not deploy while taking the switch out

Did the low beams go off?.. If not, it sounds like you have a bad switch.

My high beams won't turn off, even when my truck is not on. 05' Chevy Silverado 1500

The headlamps are controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM) The first thing I would check for is the Headlamp Hi Relay. It is located in the underhood fuse/relay box. If pulling the relay out turns your high beams off, try taking out the low beam relay and putting it in the high beam position. If the headlamps stay off, try plugging the high beam relay into the low beam position. If the low beams now come on, the relay is shorted.

If none of this works, I would recommend scanning your BCM to see if there are any fault codes.

2005 Dodge caravan. The Headlights are not staying on. When we turn the switch, sometimes they come on, sometimes they do not. It's getting worse.

Hello, on the van you have a high beam fuse and relay. On the low beam you also have a fuse and relay. Check the fuse/relay panel for a blown fuse controlling the low beam lights. If you do not find a blown fuse have some one to turn the key on and turn on the high beam lights. During this time locate the low beam headlight relay and place your finger on top of relay, have the other person to switch from high beam to low beam lights. You should feel a click in the relay when they make the switch from high to low beam. If not replace the relay and the problem should go away. Hope this will help you.

Thanks

Low beam headlamps wont turn on change bulbs and checked fuses and still wont come on.

did you check for a relay in your fuse panel? there should be a relay that controls your low beams and one for your high beams. check for that and then if high beams are working swap it with low beam relay. if your problem switches to low beams working and high beams not working replace the bad relay.
