Question about 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

2005 Chevy Equinox Brake Lights

For about the past year one of my brake light bulbs have blown excessively. Then about a month ago, the other bulb blew. Now I have no brake light at all. The 3rd top brake light, tail lights and turn signals all still work. We have checked bulbs, fuses and switches and can't find the problem. I did have someone tell me they had seen somewhere that there was a known issue with this make and model for this! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! The warranty ran out in January!!!

Replace all the bulbs (front and rear) and see if that fixes the problem. Not the headlights

If you're sure the bulb is good, your next step would be to get a volt meter and test the bulb socket. You most likely have either corrosion in the socket or possibly a bad wire or ground.

2005 Chevy Equinox passenger side tailight doesn't work. Brake light, turn signal, and hazard work but unit does not illuminate at night. Easy fix ?

Have you tried swapping the bulb from the other side see if that works If not check for power and ground at the tail lamp circuit that is inoperative. Also take a good look at the connector(s) make sure there is no corrosion in the terminals.

Brake lights

There are 2 filaments in the bulb one is for the brake the other for the taillight. Just replace the bulb, the brake filament is broken.

My brake lights are not working on my 2005 chevy equinox..However, the top one works

Check fuses if you haven't already. They are not all on the same fuse. There may also be an inline fuse. Check your bulbs. Both break lights are on the same circuit. It's possible both blew together.

I have a 2000 Dodge Durango I bought about 4 hours ago. The tail lights do not work but the brake light and turn signals do. Also the dash lights do not work. The dash lights came on when I hit the...

The odds are the one fuse is blown for the dash and the tail lights. And the wrong bulb may have been put in for the brake light. The brake light is feeding back into the tail light circuit causing the fuse to blown out.

Change out the bulbs with OEM bulbs and replace the blown fuse. That should fix the problem.

Have a 2005 chevy colorado, i installed a four way harness exactly how the directions say, but when i connect the trailor only the right and left turn signal and taillights work. No break lights.

On the truck, are the turn signals and the brake lights using the same bulb, if the brake lights are using a different bulb the trailer might not work withe the truck if it only has a 4 wire plug, might have to add brake lights to the trailer and use a 5 wire plug, yes this means rewiring the trailer and adding lights
