There is a positive post under the hood. Hook a charger up there ground it to the engine this should give you enough power to open the hatch

I bought some very long needle nose pliers and used them to reach through the front grill to release the hood. Just grab the cable and pull to the right. Fairly easy.

Battery dead...cannot get the cargo hatch open without power.

If you jump started and nothing happened then you have a poor connection or your jump leads were too small. You need welding cable size leads and heavy clamp to get the current to a dead car. Leads the size of straw won't do it. Get it connected properly and retry. Try connecting to the starter terminal, then open the trunk, then try from the battery end. A good home mech should be able to work it out.

Battery dead , key stuck in ignition can't open doors or hatch to get to battery in trunk 2006 HHR

remove the rear seat ; if needed; crawl to the back of the hatch and release the hatch lock from inside using a blade screwdriver or, have a locksmith at the dealer make a new key by code using your vin number

2005 jeep liberty hatch opens by itself when the car is unlocked. Even while starting to drive away. only way to prevent this is to lock the doors after getting in vehicle.

I have a 2004 Liberty. A couple years ago I received a manufacturer's notice to bring my vehicle in to a dealer for free repair to hatch release that can be infiltrated by water and cause hatch to open by itself. (hatch release is electrical, not mechanical; if you have a dead bnattery, you can't open the hatch) Suggest you check with a dealer's service department to see if there has been a bulletin issued to cover your vehicle.

Locked out of Corvette

Hello If your vehicle has lost battery power, open the
hatch/trunk using the vehicle key. The key lock cylinder
is located on the rear of the hatch/trunk lid above the
license plate. Turn the vehicle key clockwise in the lock
That should get you in My dream Car LOL and Thank you for using Fix Ya Bear001
