I have a dead battery and my key wont unlock the drivers door which is the only door with a key lock and i cant get the hood open, any suggestions of how to open hood so i can power the battery !?!?!? please help

I bought some very long needle nose pliers and used them to reach through the front grill to release the hood. Just grab the cable and pull to the right. Fairly easy.
