There is a fuel pump cutoff reset button (and a relay) it is located under the instrument panel at the right (passenger) hand cowl side "kick" side panel, press the button and when you hear a click it is reset.

Where is the fuse and/or relay for the fuel pump on my 96 Explorer. Also i could not find the shut off switch on the passenger side floor panel.

the relay should be located on the driver side in a fuse box under the hood, pop the lid off look in side the lid to find out which one controls the fuel pump

I have a '96 Explorer that won't start. Cranks strong, wasn't able to jump it. No fuses bad, tried replacing pcm relay and fuel pump relay, inertia switch isn't popped. Is there anything else that could...

what is the fuel pressure reading, chances are u just have a defecive fuel pump, if the pump is running u will hear it when the key is turned to run for one second, so do it repeated time off then on and listen, if u hear nothing repalce the pump.

Where reset switch for fuel pump is located

I know there is not one on the 96 models. I fought a fuiel pump related issue on our 96. There are several sensors that must be working before the fuel pump will run. Start with the crankshaft sensor, then look at the camshaft sensor, finally there is a relay that actually runs the fuel pump. The relay should be under the hood with the fuses.

Dodge dosen't use reset switches on the fuel pump circuit. The only company I know of that does is Ford and Ford companies like Mazda and Jaguar.

Hope helps.

No power to fuel pump

Try looking at the fuse under the hood make sure your getting 12 volts at fuse.If fuse is good but no power try checking the fuel pump relay. you can switch the relay with another system that you know works. Lastly Check you Auto Shutdown Relay (ASD). If there has been an accident this relay will kill your fuel pump power. good luck.

My 96 LT1 will not start and I do not have 12 volts to my fuel pump. All fuses are good. I parked the vehicle 3 months ago and it was running. Any ideas. Ronnie

check harness and connections to fuel pump if u dont have 12 v pump wont run connections generally have a tendency get some corrosion on them or didnt state if turning over but check battery may not be putting out enough power to start vehicle

Where is the fuel pump reset button on a 96 grand am 2.4

GM CARS DON'T USE A FUEL PUMP RESET BUTTON, THEY HAVE AN OIL PRESSURE CONTROLLED FUEL PUMP CUTOFF SWITCH ON THE ENGINE, IF THE CAR HAS NO OIL PRESSURE AND THE KEY WAS ON THE FUEL PUMP SHUTS OFF.

check for voltage at the pump. If it has 12v there, (and a good ground) then pump is bad. there may be a pump fuse on the fuse block (can't remember) but if you find it has blown, the pump may be getting ready to fail. If fuse fixes the problem, replace it and carry an extra with you, then change the pump.
