2001 Saab 93 ignition

Baettery has beentetsed. So has alternator. Both are fine. Still, there are times when the car will not start. When this happmes thre is no clicking sound. It just won't turn over. Sometimes I can turn the switch on and move teh gear shift back and forth and then put in park and the car wil lstrat. Other times, I can get out of the car , wait a moinute or two and it wil lstart. Neith works allof the time???

I have the same problem and I have had the starter and the ignition switch replaced, I was just at the Saab dealer telling my woes and the exact car had just come in with the same problem and they found that it was the ignition safety switch. This cause he car to not be able to recognize wether the car is in park or neutral.

I have the same problem. sometimes I dont get the car doors unlocked with the electric key.(need to use the real key to unlock) if so i cant start the car. seems it appears when I have stressed the car or been in a hurry to stop and get out of the car. my solution is to hit the main middle console, 85% time it work, else I need to wait minutes or hours, slaming the door also use to work.

When I brought in a used 2001 Saab I had just purchased last month, there was a recall on the ignition switch that they repaired FREE. See if your vehicle is on the recall list.

SAAB 2002 93 automatic gear stuck

you have to push your shift override button? Your cable that runs from your ignition/steering column to your shift knob could be worn and therefore loose not allowing the car the be shifted out of park (as if your key weren't in the ignition). Hope this helps
