Question about 1987 Isuzu Trooper

1 Answer

Fuel, brake, and alternator warning lights stay on.

The fuel, brake, and alternator warning Isuzu Trooper II remain lit after the engine starts. I have replaced the battery and the alternator (both of which were bad) but the lights remain lit.

Hi Guys,

Have you finally sorted your problems. I think it might be a faulty alternator on its way out.

Could you please be kind to let me know. I have the same problem and just need to be sure of what to do.

Cheers guys

Does the '89 Isuzu Trooper II have a gas tank

Depending on how good the guage is, when the yellow light comes on telling you that your fuel is low, you have approx 2 gallon left in the tank. It is never good to run on a tank that low due to heat buildup of the pump which causes pump failure. The gas acts as a coolant for the pump.

My 1989 isuzu trooper will not start it is not the alternator or battery and i just replaced the fuel pump what could be wrong

Slacken injector pipes and check your getting fuel. The fuel tank is a fault with the trooper, The feed pipes are at the top of the fuel tank, and corrode causing the main feed pipe to draw in air.You have to remove bottom pan under tank and then the three bolts each side of the tank to drop down, taking care not to pull on the outher pipes.im quite sure that's your problem.Any ait that can get sucked into the fuel line. That engine will not start.

Some of the warning lights stay on.

so all the lights that come on when you first turn the key on stay on? maybe your alternator is not working properly? or not connecting to your dash panel correctly? or maybe the engine management system has a fault in it? more likely to be a dodgy connection to your dash board.

Dash lights stay on after car is started

Sounds like the alternator is not putting out 13.5 to 14 volts. Have the brushes checked as well as the diodes.
