Here the fix the saab convertable has the famous failed ground wire of the convertable top, the line the ground in the converatable itself and yes it fails, here is what you do behind the driver side is the convertable module you must identify the ground (I think it brown but very not sure), ground the convertable control ground wire and you will be functioning in no time dont bother to repair the ground in the top just the control top module and attach it to a good ground where it is mounted
Radio on the Saab need a code of 4 numbers to put back on the radio. The moment you take out the cables of battery the radio is out. Is a security things on the Saab. When you bought the car should have a card and keep the card in the safe place don't loose. That how you put the radio on.
In the trunk there are 2 sensors that are located in the back side of the cover where the bar with the springs are they mus of popped open just put a piece of tape thats what i did and so far so good. One question how do you get the top down buy hand? Cant figure it out.
I have a 2004 Saab 9-3 Arc convertible that had the same problem. The spring on the hinge assembly for the package shelf latch assembly was broken. The part itself is over $300. If you have someone remove the spring, your top will work again. You'll just have to put up with the top shelf hanging down in your trunk about 1 foot, but you can still manually move it to place things inside like your luggage or golf clubs.
the rear of the top under the back window is drawn down into place and latched by its own motor that simply pulls or pushes two rods. If the motor stopped moving for whatever reason, simply fold down the back seat, reach your arm through the little access at the top of the boot on the drivers side and pop the rods out of place and latch/unlatch manually. this takes a flashlight and some inspection time to do at first if you dont know what your feeling for.
there should be a switch right on the master window switch that may be "on" to prevent anyone but the driver to operate windows. is this car a convertable? is the switch between the seats in center console? do you have an owners manual? it may have it in there. i will try to find more info. for you if there is no "lock out".
