Good morning and welcome to fixya.com. do you have an oil change light on that you are trying to reset or do you just want to set the minder on the computer in the overhead console. if its just the overhead console then go to where you want to and hold both buttons in until you hear a beep then the numbers will reset to zero for you along with you fuel mileage and economy gauge. good luck and let me know the outcome.

How do i reset the oil change light? 99 grand am se 6cyl

That light should reset itself after you changed the oil .If you have changed the oil and it doesn't reset ,try disconnecting the batter for about 5 mins. check your milage, see how many miles you normally drive before that light normally comes on. That is so, if that light dosen't come on ,you will know its time to change the oil. If that light doesn't come on at the right amount of miles, have your oil changed at the dealer and ask them to check the oil change warning light .If they find nothing wrong ,no charge . This warning light is fairly new ,in the old days people just guessed ,its about time to change the oil !

How to reset, after changing the oil - to get it off the display

Turn the key to the on position, ( this is when all of the dash lights are on) press on the gas petal three times, ( slowly but within a second of each pressing ) then it should be reset. If you have the read out where the milage is normaly displayed, then where it was saying "change oil soon" will display "oil life reset" after you've done this.
