Just driving along, doing 70 km/hr and car just died. No warning! 2 days in a row. Took to garage rebooted computer thought it was my auto theft, was fine for 1 day then did it again. Now what?

After the third time the car died on the side of the road. We took it to a Gm garage. They had it for 2 days before they found what was wrong. The map sensor needed to be changed but it didn't show up on the computer read out. So now my car seems to be working fine.

Check your oil level
if it is showing just below the fill line it will shut off due to lack of oil
keep a couple of quarts handy

2004 Nissan Altima 3.5L BATTERY LIGHT went on during 15 minute drive. Next day car "died" while idling after a 20 minute drive. BRAKE WARNING LIGHT & BATTERY LIGHT on prior to full electrical failure.

Start with checking the alternator voltage with a multimeter. With the car off check the voltage in the battery which should be holding 12v charged less if flat of course then start the car and test the battery again. If the alternator is good you should be getting a reading of 14 to 14.5 v if it's the alternator it'll A) not put any charge into the battery or B) be a very low voltage being anything under 13.5 v

58 plate 2.0 Mondeo . Engine warning light came on took to garage they put it on a diagnostic and thought was cured .

The warning light more times than not is coming on because of the emission system. There are several sensors that are hard to diagnose even for a professional with a computer. First place to start which is cheap and easy is to use a fuel treatment for a few tanks of gas. This has worked for me in the past by cleaning out the fuel injectors and fuel system. From there if this does not work you will have to check O2 sensors everywhere they are and replace.

When was last tune-up, (plugs & wires checked), and fuel filter changed. Good place to start.
