You have to remove the tank it is in the top of the tank. Or some take the bed off and access it that way

1999 Chevy silverado 4.3 liter V6 changed fuelpump, fuel filter, and solenoid but truck mainly in the mornings after driving for around ten miles the tach goes to zero

Believe it or not the ignition switch causes a lot of problems. You can try taking the ignition switch out and and spraying it good with a proper cleaner. I replaced two fuel pumps in less than a year due to the ignition switch not giving a proper ground to the pump.

You also could have some trash in your gas tank large enough to collect after running a short while that impedes the flow of fuel. If you think its the fuel you can hook up a fuel pressure gage to see if you are loosing fuel pressure. Hard to diagnose some of these issues, but I do know how hard it is to change a fuel pump. raise the bed or drop the tank. Good Luck (btw, I learned to always use OEM fuel pumps)

1989 Chevy Silverado pickup starts when you put gas in carb but the fuel enjector will not spray fuel into carb

The first test would be the fuelpump, this sounds like the pump is not pump the fuel to injectors, as you said that if you give it fuel into throtlebody it will start. this tells me its not getting fuel and the most common reason is the fuelpump, a quick test that sometimes works is to have someone trying to start it while you beat the bottom of the tank with a rubber hammer, this sometimes shakes the pump and it makes contact and starts truck, if this happens then the pump is bad for sure, if it doesnt start then you will need to test for power and ground at the connector going to pump, this connector is locted neat the tank, you will see wires coming from the top of the tank going to frame, theres the connector to test. good day.

I have a 2001 chevy silverado 1500 with a 4800 vortec engine. it starts and idels fine but when ever i give it gas, the engine starts to sputter and dies. ive already changed the fuel filter and spark plug...

This sounds llike weak feul pressure, the fuelpump may need replacing, the first thing to do is have the fuel pressure tested and if the pressure is low then have the pump replaced. the pump is located inside the fuel tank and the tank will need to be dropped to replace the pump, good luck ,

04 chevy avalanche , takes 2 times the rotations of starter to turn the engine over but still starts .. Changed plugs and wires and tips maybe fuel pump injectors?

You are on the right track, the problem which is common is the fuelpump, the problem is , theres an internal antiflow valve the goes bad inside the pump, what happens is the fuel runs back into the tank and empties the lines and injector rail, when you go to start the truck it now take time for it to pnump fuel back through the lines to fuel rail and injectors and pressurize, so it take so cranking to get going. a little neat trick to be sure is to turn key on then off three times and then it should fire up, if it does then its the fuelpump, you will need to drop the tank and replace the fuelpump asm, the pump will still operate, we have customers that have had this problem for a couple of years and still havent repaired it due to the cost, they dont mind the long crank time to start, if you are going to repair drive until gas is about empty, this will help alot when its time to drop the tank, heres a picture of the fuelpump asm, hope this is helpful, have a good day.johnjohn2_13.jpg

Car will crank but will not start

First check you are getting spark to plugs. If yes check for fuel. You can spray starting fluid in intake when you pull off intake rubber hose that sits on top of engine. If you start momentarily you have fuel problems. Turn key forward just where its left after you start. Listen for fuelpump to whine back by gas tank filler. If no noise most likely fuelpump. Always change fuel filter right after its install.

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank.Easier to replace when it is at a quarter tank or less.Be very careful around gas and fumes.
