Spin the spark plug wire on the sprark plug, a few times left to right, and then firmly pull on the wire boot straight out from the plug and it should come out. If the wire gets damaged when removing it from the plug, you will have to replace that plug wire.
The code indicates the coil pack or spark plug is malfunctioning. You can test this using an additional person. by removing the coil pack and spark plug, place the spark plug into the coil pack and ground the tang on the spark plug to the engine. Have someone start the engine and watch for a blue spark. if there is no spark, then the coil pack is malfunctioning. There is also ways to check the coil packs using a multimeter.
also, bee sure you didnt crack the ceramic part of the plug during initial installation.
On the 4.7 V8 engine, each individual spark plug is located under each ignition coil. Prior to removing spark plug, spry compressed air around base of ignition coil at cylinder head. This well help prevent fireing material from combustion chmber.
First you need to remove the air intake assembly then remove the accelator cable braket. After that you will need to remove the 6 bolts and coil cover from cylinder head cover. Then, remove 4 bolts and the 2 coils from the cover. Disconnect the tension leads from the spark plugs by twisting the boot and removing.
The finally you can now see the spark plugs illustrated below.
Order is 153624 #1 plug is one closest to radiator. #1 tower on cap is one just past the cap hold-down screw (clockwise) furthest away from block. order runs clockwise around cap.(next time, remove them one at a time!!)
