The interior fuse box is part of the BCM.

The Body Control Module is behind the radio.
It is a silver metal box about 7'' X 5" with 2 plug in connectors--a bit of a pain in the **** to change out so set aside some time

You cannot bypass the immobiliser, it has been built like that for a reason.
To fix the problem go to an authorized car dealer and have the car key replaced and re-programmed.

Locate the relay for the immobiliser in the fuse panel in the engine compartment near the battery and replace it.

You are going to have to replace the ignition switch itself there is a chip in the lock cylinder that is not responding !

There might be a case that the connector was not f.ully home on body electronics module...

Or sometimes holding your foot flat to the floor and cranking them activates a clean cycle

in the phrasers and fixes it..

check above two options and we would appreciate if you may tell us the status of the query.

Hey, one of the experts also mentioned the reason for fault being Crank.

    try

Turn key to crank - no crank

    Hold key in crank position

smack the lower dash panel ( Where handbrake was ea-ed )

if it then cranks over follow than there is a smartlock fault in bcm.

    Thanks.

Let me inform you, Everytime you change the ignition, you need to reset the smartlock.

There is only one way to reset smartlock...

Castle auto electrics in victoria sell a little black box which allows a ford ECU to bypass a smatlock. It is used by people wanting to do engine swaps.

    In order to disable smartlock,

You may remove the interior light from the car.

    Thanks.

  • taran_2005
    taran_2005 Mar 07, 2009

One more way to completely diable it would be :-

    On the
Smartlock, power to a couple of pins on the diagnostic plug apparently
    disables it completely.

    Thanks.

Hey got a way to bypass smartlock

    Hi there,

A Immobiliser in an EL Falcon, doesnt cut power to your starter motor. It prevents power to the Fuel system.
In that if it was an immobiliser (Smart Lock) fault, it should still be turning over.

1/ Does your interior light work?? Strange as it sounds the interior light is connected the the smart lock, and if it doesnt work. You cant turn the smart lock off.

Another trick to try- Turn the key from the lights on position. Which is just one click before it starts. Then off one click on, off, on , off do this on off this several times. and it will manually bypass the Immobiliser.

if that doesnt work, check for power to the starter motor when the key is held on start.

    DO RATE THIS AS FIXYA.

You have an immobiliser issue which unfortunately will require the assistance of a decent auto electrician. The key is not talking to the immobiliser ecu

I need a 1998 mazda 323 ba immobiliser bypass key or another solution to start my car. Can anyone help me?

I know this question is old but I recently encountered a similar problem with my 1995 323 BA and this may help someone else. Override the immobilizer by doing the following:

open the car via the drivers door
put the key in the ignition
turn the key to ACC
now turn the key to ON
repeat the last 2 steps X 12 quickly (ignore the indicators flashing and the central locking activating).
the dashboard should be lighting up as normal.
Now turn the key to START

next time it wont start, pour hot water over ecu, if it starts replace ecu, you will need a scanner to reset as it will go into theft mode when you fit new ecu, beware that this is a common fault and you can buy 2nd hand faulty computers.
