Question about 1992 Dodge Dakota
Are you getting a no start situation, or is engine running at low power? Code 54 is fuel injector sync pick-up is not being sensed by logic module. try disconnecting connector to distributor pick-up & clean it good, add dielectric grease and reconnect, a well as the logic module (computer) connectors. One other thing to check is wire to oxygen sensor isn't grounding out somewhere, as that has been known to cause code too.
