It is the exhaust actually cooling down, this is fairly normal especially in brand new vehicles or vehicles with new exhaust. the metal used in the exhaust expands with heat you shut the car off and the heat goes away so metal contracts. nice car by the way, my neighbor around the corner just bought a black one. good luck

I have a 2007 Pontiac G5 which will not go completely into the park position (automatic) which will not allow the key to completely shut off and be removed, meaning the lights stay on. Will start and...

typically your problem is in the column. That's for cars that have the shifter on the column. What's happening is the gears aren't lining up to put the shifter in the park position. Unless mechanically inclined you'll have to take into a shop.

Hello...I have an 09 elantra I just bought. It

The ticks and pings you hear is just the exhaust / header cooling down. Hot things expand and what your hearing is the exhaust system cooling down " contracting " . Dont worry about it, there's nothing you can do.

This is not normal

It's not normal!
Dealers are deaf to issues!
My moms dealer told her the grinding noise from her starter was because it was new and needed to break in!

Try using better grade gas, stick to one brand for a couple of tanks. Some new cars need higher octane too.
But stick to one brand and grade for a few tank fulls.
