Wind Noise 2005 Silverado

Door was yanked open by a gust of wind. Must of sprung it as now I have bad wind noise over 40MPH. Don't see any adjustments on door hinges. How do you adjust?

I found out there is no adjustment. The hinge is welded to a piece of sheetmetal. it has to be bent back. I put a 2X4 1 foot long between door and hinge on the bottom hinge and put a ratching load retainer arount the top frame of the door with the window open and cranked it back to the body of the truck. Did both doors and all road noise disappeared.

I think the actual frame the hinges are on is bent, you should take it to a body shop to have them re-align it.

I have unbearable wind noise from both the drivers side and passenger side mirrors above 40MPH. What can be done. Thank you, Dennis from Duxbury

There is a TSB Bulletin on issue. Number:12-82-04 dated 04/15/04.
Involves Replacing Door Mirror Gussets. First try opening window and squeezing rubber together (that glass runs through) by mirror to see if that helps reduce noise. I believe this is caused by closing door hold glass instead of door!
Replacement parts are:
Right Gusset PN 61158AE00B
Left Gusset PN 61158AE01B

I had left one changed at body shop (while car was there) and now its so quiet the right one is annoying me!

DS door is rubbing on front fender when opening and closing. How can I adjust door to keep from happening? 2007 2500 silverado HD (classic)

it is easier to to adjust the fender cause if you move the door it could cause you a huge headache tring to get it to line up at the latch and you could cause numorous wind noises and air leaks.

Wind noise

These windows are prone to air/water leakage, especially if the window regulator has been removed or replaced. There are no less than 8 adjustments that need to be performed in a specific order to achieve a tight seal, and to have the door open and close properly. I'm sorry I can't even start to tell you how to do these adjustments in this type of forum. I suggest you try and find a shop that has experience with this type of repair on your vehicle.
