Security alarm problem

In nov 08 i bought a 93 z28. i recd 1 regular key only. the car had been stored all winter. when i went to start it today, it wouldn't start. i put a new battery in it, and alarms started going off, and the horn started beeping..., there is a problem in the alarm system i think. what do i do?? (besides take it to a car alarm place again?" is there a fuse, or can i by pass something somehow??) all the while the car was stored, i'd start it now and then, and a red 'alarm' light still flashed...all was good till the battery died.....?????

    key fob? would that be a little box like thing that is held in your hand and with it you can push buttons for the alarm, locks etc? if so, no, i don't unfortunately.. and to make things worse, i don't know if it's the factory alarm or not...to disable the alarm, maybe there is a fuse???

Do you have the key fob? Alot of alarms will go off if you unhook and rehook the battery. All you should have to do is disable the alarm after you unhook the battery. Is this a factory alarm or an aftermarket one?

    If it is a factory alarm, try hooking up the battery and when the alarm is going off, unlock the drivers door with the key. It should shut down. If it is aftermarket, look under the dash, drivers side look for wires with fuse holders that are that are not in looms, if you find some try pulling the fuses out of these fuse holders. The key fob is the black box with the locks and alarm buttons. If you buy another one you can program it to work for your car.

If it's the factory security system that honks the horn and flashes the headlights, you can shut it off by turning the key in the door cylinders or in the rear tailgate key cylinder. If it's an aftermarket alarm, look for a small silver switch under the dash and usually turning the ignition on and flipping that switch will permanently put the alarm into valet mode. Good luck.

Jump the vehicle, if it starts then the problem is a dead cell in the battery if it doesn't there is a problem in the vehicle security system. If you have an after market alarm installed you can disconnect the power wire to that alarm and that will disable the starter kill switch and allow the vehicle to start.

sometimes turning the ignition on 3 times quickly without starting will reset the computer. If the van has power locks and keyless entry then try using only the keyless entry. Sometimes your car wont have a alarm but an anti theft device which will not allow it to start if it goes off or something triggers it.

1996 Camaro won't start

My 94 z28 Camaro misfires whne shes hot, I got her on a diagnostic and they told me that the distributor {optispark unit} was reading faulty and that I needed to replace this before they could go further $1100 quoted, ye right, I bought one for new at $169, they quoted me $400 just for the unit, anyway, I havent installed it yet, Found out that backfiring could also be a module, well I have the dizzy now so I may as well get the module as well. Will let you know. I went to start my car today, it started briefly then died, I thought the dizzy had completely died. Checked fuses and connectors, It cranked over but wouldn't fire. Decided to surf for info on the net. 1 hour later I went back out and tried again, It fired up and ran, Must have had a gremlin, all seems to be back where it was now, Summary, go make some lunch and come back to it, nothing to lose except some time. {If still fails, check Air flow sensor, may be clogged}
