How do i change a cracked cylinder head in a 1994 honda civic ex coupe 1.6L engine?

Have a compression test done as it may be a head gasket and not cracked. Anyway the cheapest and most reliable procedure here is to have the job done professionally by a shop that specialises in Honda, Get a service exchange head is the answer and you should be back on the road in a day.

How do u know if head gasket is blown after overheat and now does not turn over

Typically, and in my own experience, over heating results in a blown head gasket. The question is not so much did it blow or not ... rather the question should be was it serious or deadly for the engine? Here are a few things to look for: Loss of power, oil in the radiator, water in the oil, white steam coming out of the exhaust, low water in radiator, high oil level (checck the ddip stick) leaking around the heads and or new unusual noise, water on the ground, low compression, fouled spark plugs, engine seized. I suggest you discuss repair with your mechanic before you even consider a tow job anywhere. Your car, while important and valuable to you, is 20 years old. Repair will probably exceed the value of your vehicle, and even if repaired, you will still have a 20 year old vehicle. My free advice is consider replacement vehicle rather than repair of this one.

I would like to have instructions on how to change the water pump in a 1994 oldsmobile achieva

only advice i can give is when you replace it with the new one .take the time to make sure where t bolts to the block where the gasket sits get that very perfectly clean.people leave little bits of old gasket on and have to redo the entire job .

1994 subburban.5.3Lthink maybe got a bad intake gasket

these engines are known for intake gasket leaks and head gasket leaks.

Do a search on dextron gm coolant ( the orange looking stufff)

This coolant is very corrosive and GM has had lots of complaints.

Best bet is to go have yout truck inspected.

How to remove oil pan from 1994 olds acheiva

raise car, remove any obstruction from out of the way of the oil pan. if you arent pulling the motor it will mean you need to drop the front k member. after that remove all bolts from pan, pry it off with a putty knife, remove old gasket with razor knife, reapply gasket, possibly adding RTV silicone if your car needs it. reverse all other steps and you are clear. unless you know for sure its just the oil pan leaking i would suggest changing front and rear main seals on the crank as well.

Thinking about buying a 1994 BMW 320i because i've always wanted a BMW, although the head gasket is completely blown and undriveable. What are the chances of me finding a mechanic to do the job on such an...

head gasket repairs will cost you thousands 2 at the least as it involves stripping down half your engine, if the engine starts and you can run the car for more than 40 mins you are in luck, there is this stuff called SEAL UP i think the brand is CARGO you pour it in your radiator and it chemically welds your head gaskets and other cracks back together and lasts for ages and actually works brilliantly assuming the crack isn't to big used it on my car last nite as i had blown head gasket and it runs great now

ROUGH IDLING AND OVERHEATING

IT SURE SOUNDS LIKE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET TO ME, BUT THAT WOULD DEPEND ON WHO DID THE VALVE JOB. WAS THIS A LICENSED MECHANIC? PERHAPS IF THE HEAD WAS REMOVED, AND THE OLD HEAD GASKET REUSED. THAT WOULD CAUSE IT TO OVERHEAT AND MISFIRE. I HOPE THIS HELPS. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA AND FOR AN HONEST RATING.

1994 old cutlass ciera 3100 blown head gasket.

Get a Chilton's book on the car. It will take you thru the whole job, and give you the torque specs for putting it back together. You will need a torque wrench, foot pounds, and a good socket set.
