Does it have 4 bolts aroung the center of the hub? If it does, you will need to unbolt the wheel bearing from the spindle. You may have ruined the wheel bearing if this is the case, and need to get a new one. If not, you just need to get a bigger hammer.

Front brakes gradually get tighter until they lock up.

do you have to release the pressure from the brake line from the bleeder? I had this problem with a old motorhome,... turns out some one used something else besides brake fluid in the master cylinder, brake fluid wont expand under heat, tranny fluid or oil, etc it expands i n the brake system, and the pressure pushes the pads to the rotor and there for nowhere to go. Try flushing the whole brake line master cylinder etc....and put new Brake Fluid throughout. Bet that works. :::?"""""???

1. Block the back tires or set parking brake
2. Jack the vehicle up and set stands or use ramps.
3. Take the front wheels off
4. There are two bolts on back of each caliper Take them off.
5. The whole caliper comes off now DONT LET HANG FROM THE HOSE!!!
6. Get a c clamp or BIG pliers to compress the pistons in the caliper back into place.
7. Remove the pads, inspect the rotors for wear and deep gouges. IF bad, replace.
8. Put in the new pads and replace the calipers. Make sure bolts are tight, Torque wrench recommended.
Put the tires back on, start the car and pump the brakes to get the pistons in the right spot.

Interior brake light on in 2004 Kia Spectra but no brake issues. Goes out after car runs for about 5 minutes.

Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir under the hood. It is likely low. If it is low it would be a good time to check the brakes. Low fluid can indicate a leek or brakes that are just about worn out.

2004 kia spectra with automatic transmission was slow to engage, now it jerks while in gear and kills engine.

I have the same problem, I'm cureenlty going to try Step one and, Replace the Transmission Fluid,

I'm doing this becuase, the Kia Spectra need a special transmission Fluid that the last owner or person might not have put in.

Number two reason is because from my knowledge old transimission fluid will do this also.

Do it yourself to save money search it up on google, thats how i learned.

Cant remove the 2 screws that hold on the rotor of a 2004 kia spectra

While twisting the screwdriver hit the end of your screwdriver with a hammer or mallet. This will hopefully shock the threads enough to break away.

2002 kia spectra front brake rotors

There is a phillips-head screw holding the rotor to the hub. you need an impact or hammer wrench to get it off. I bought mine at a parts store for like 10 or 15 bucks. it's like a big *** screwdriver with different bits for the screws (flathead, fillips, etc.) and you put it on the screw and whack the end with a hammer while twisting the driver at the same the opposite to put it back on. hope that helps. email me at if you need more help.
