Car won't start

1994 crown vic, about 4 months ago it cut off on me driving down the road. car has oil leak and runs hot on occasions, the day the car broke down, i had to have it towed in and had someone look at it, everthing looked ok, in the past it had problems with the alarm system the car alarm keeps coming on and off by itself then it will cut. we have to unhook the battery from the car i order for it to stop and the only way the car would crank before you would have to push the lock door button on the door.

Hello? Emission problem 1994 crown vic here...

I owned one of these. There is a groove under the butterfly horn of the throttle. There are 8 bolts and a $10 gasket. Often the EGR passage is clogged and it throws off the calibrations and when you clean this groove the engine will run much better.

'99 Ford Crown Vic LX: #12 30A Maxi fuse blows seconds after starting or ignition turned on.

i had this problem with my 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo with the brake lights it kept popping fuses right after the ignition was turned on try putting a higher amp fuse in place of the old one that keeps blowing then check for shorts to the starter and check grounds and wires and also the transmission issue check the fluid and then if the fluid is fine change the transmission filter the filter may have not gotten replaced when the transmission was rebuilt and may be clogged or dirty

The engine in my 1994 ford crown vic is knocking from lack of oil how to stop it?

You probably won't.
If it has been run low on oil, the bearings may be damaged which would require replacement.
You could try a thicker oil but I doubt it will make much difference.

Running hot with no leaks

You would need to check the components of the cooling system, such as the thermostat and cooling fan, also things like a blocked exhaust.

I have a 94 crown vic that blows blueish white smoke sumtimes on acceleration but then it goes away, it doesnt do it on start up and it runs fine otherwise

If there is a blue tint you are burning oil. You may have worn rings, or you may have one ring that is stuck and letting oil by. There may also be hardened valve stem seals. As old as it is try switching to full synthetic oil after doing an engine clean. It will not burn.

Hope this helps

1985 Ford Crown Vic engine when hot outside last 2 years would take time to start as I waited to re-try until it did. Lately has to have a jump and starts right away. Shop replaced: battery, serpentine...

It sounds like you have the wrong thermostat installed in your car. You need to get the water to the block quicker then what it's doing now. Always check oil every time before driving. This is a must on older cars. Some Mechanics differ, but in the long run it will pay off. An oil spot beneith the car might be bolts that need to be tighten on the oil pan, of you may have a bad oil sending unit. Also ehck power steering pump fluid level and make sure there is not a leak there.

1997 Crown Vic blows radio fuses

The quickest way to find a short circuit is by putting a bulb in place of the fuse. Anytime the time the bulb lights there is a load. And if the load is a shorted wire the brightness of the bulb will give you a hint. So while you're at it, finding a 'short' is a quicky...keep your eyes on the bulb. gotcha!
