My 2000 gmc jimmy will not start. It will turn

My 2000 gmc jimmy will not start. It will turn over, but never fire off. I've changed the battery, ign relay, fuel pump relay, fuel filter and it still will just turn over. It was running strong with no problems, parked the car one night and next it would not start. after recharging the battery from attempted starts it started out of the blue. I went ahead and changed the above items anyway since I had already purchased them, but now it is not starting again. could someone please help me with this.

Have you hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to the test port on the rear of the intake, drivers side. You can get a fuel pressure tester for about 40 dollars at a part store. It is a real good tool to have in your toolbox. If your Jimmy can't build 55 psi, it won't start.

2000 GMC Jimmy turns over hard like it is the battery, but changed out the battery and starter, still no change, turns over hard maybe 2-3 turns and then that's it.

you may need to shim the starter it may be binding on the the flywheel because its not lining up evenly.sort of like drilling a hole at the wrong angle and trying to straighten it while your still drilling.or its possible your flywheel is warped.hope that helps

2000 Jimmy running one second and just won't start the next. Will crank but no fire. Changed fuel filter and while doing so turned key and swa fuel pump working.

If no check engine light is on, I would check the ign-distributor cap and rotor, also check the crank and crank sensor. There is also a ign-mod located in the distributor assembly under the rotor. They will fail when hot.

2000 GMC Jimmy will not start

The oil presure switch does have some bearing on the problem but my suggestion is to change the coil. I had a the same problem with an astro van. I changed everything that you have described and it fixed the problem just for a little while and then all of a sudden did it again. I changed the coild and the cold start swithch and never had the problem again.
