1993 ford van 5.8 runs rich and rough.when map sensor vacuum unhooked seems to run little leaner what could cause this?

Well the MAP sensor could be bad. Unhooked how? Electrical or vacuum. Also, does the temp gauge work? This sensor could also cause rich fuel. Another thing to think about is that this engine could be 23 years old. Wear and tear..

94 ford mustang 3.8 engine why is no. 5 cylendre running too rich

How do you know #5 is running rich? error codes tell you that? I doubt it. But if you are sure, check the connections and the wire all the way back to the Ecu. my wild guess, the control is shorted to a positive supply and therefore the injector thinks it is supposed to supply wide open fuel. Or you have a bad ecu that is telling it the same thing.

Engine running rich

The only thing I could think of to make it run rich is if the pump is wrong for the car, or something happened to the return line to the tank. The pressure regulator should maintain pressure, and the injectors should be functioning as before you changed the pump.
Is the check engine light on, and is the fuel pressure normal ?

Engine running to rich

An engine running rich can be caused by many factors including the need to change plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs.
if you want to know what happened i think you should buy a tool to read the fault code, if you need click here: OBDII Code Scanner

91 5.2 RUNS RICH

Is the check engine light on ?
High idle speed could be a vac leak or a problem with the throttle body.
Its possible the same vac leak is causing the rich mixture if the map sensor is reading correctly. The computer would think you were accelerating.

1985 ford f150 with 5.0 EFI running very rich

Check you coolant temp sensor ,If it is bad it will be reading{ 40 degrees below zero }and this will cause a rich condition due to the computer thinking it is that could outside, which requires more fuel .:)

98 jeep grand cherokee black smoke

Either your too rich and gas is getting by the piston rings going into the crankcase(oil pan)or you have a defective fuel pump (even if it is new!!)IT'S one or the other!!Running the car very rich for a period of time will have fuel in the oil!! I run mind rich for the nos and smell gas in the oil when draining it and only have a few passes on the motor with the nitrous, but runs extremely rich at idle because the timing is backed way down and running a colder plug causes a rich condition!! Plugs will foul quickly also!!
