96 neon overheating

Do some simple checks. First check the coolant level while the car is cool and off. With the car still off remove the radiator cap. Then start the car up. The antifreeze should not bubble or over flow with in 3 minutes of idling. If that's ok put the cap back on securely, Then see if the electrical fans turn on when it gets just above operating temp. Usually if you turn on the ac that will let you know if they are working. If all of these check are good. Then replace the thermostat. If the fluid bubbles out with the cap removed when it's cold and running. It's usually a bad cylinder head gasket or a cracked cylinder head. If the fans do not ingage check the fan relay and electrical wiring.

1997 dodge neon is running hot

What is the mileage? Check the reservoir for coolant, when the engine is COLD,... I repeat COLD, check the radiator for fluid. If fluid is present, check to see if your fans are working properly, turn your AC on and your fans in front of your motor should kick in within minutes.

If you have coolant in the reservoir and radiator (suspect a new thermostat, replacing the radiator will benefit greatly too)

If your fans do not turn on within minutes, replace your radiator fan relay.

New radiator for 96 plym neon is too large. old one was much smaller. 2L SOHC 16 valve engine, no AC, what gives? Are there 2 diff engines for 96 neon?

Yes there is 2 different engine, 2.0L SOHC, and 2.0L DOHC, but autoparts stores show a few different sizes available, with AC, and without, as well as cooling fan mounts location. Better take lots of measurements and head back to parts store. That's one good reason for taking old part in with you, when at all possible.

96 neon keeps showing hot...not the thermostat, or radiator....help

check to see if the hoses are collapsing or pinched, or the radiator needs to be flushed. could be the thermostat even though you said its not. sometimes when you get a new one, its still a bad one

As I drive my 1995 dodge neon it starts to overheat but when I turn on the hot air and let it blow out the windows the temperature goes down and it happens mainly on really hot days, whats the problem?

The 3 most common reasons for this are:
1. The thermostat could be not opening all the way when hot. This is a cheap item to replace.
2. The radiator is full of scale buildup. The solutions are to remove it and take it to a radiator shop and have it cleaned or get a new one.
3. Radiator fan not running. Turn on the AC and see if the fan is running. It should run with the AC on. If not, it could be the fan motor OR the fan relay.

05 dodge neon cooling fan is loud. stays on after turning car off

If you haven't made any recent changes then I would first check your coolant levels make sure you have sufficient enough coolant in radiator and in the reservoir if the problem still exist check your thermostat make sure it is opening and closing if it is have your radiator pressure checked at local radiator repair facility... wutxtye0rjd9d9ekmodqt1eoxkvn9hr9qjz1l3dabggyud7sdgr36czsrfxqenadhnijx9nfayi+sz1sug0aaaaasuvork5cyii=

96' dodge Neon 2.0

The fan could just be dead. To test the fan apply 12 volts DC directly to the correct wires of the fan. I just replaced a dead fan in a PT Criuser.

could be signs that you need to replace the radiator. neons have a rpoblem with the radiator cores rotting out pretty quickly.
