I don't need to give credit here to anyone or any company other than Autozone for this step by step to do your waterpump.

Serpentine belt coming off on a 99 plymout grand voyager

Verify that you have a good/correct belt then check your belt routing and alignment. Then check pulleys for faulty bearings. A free spin with the belt removed should be enough. Whats really common on those is the belt tensioner goes out

My 99 Grand Voyager keeps throwing the serpentine belt off..I just replaced the water pump and the belt was good for 3 days now I am back to square 1

gates make a kit for theses that is a double sided grooved belt, new grooved tension er and idler pulley because this was such a common problem with theses vans. I have put theses on a few vans and the people were so happy that the belt don't come off anymore even in the heavy rain. The gates part number for the 3.3 and 3.8 V6 is 38379K any parts store that sell gates belts (most of them do) should have this or be able to get it. Its not too hard to install and is about $130 bucks

How do you put on a fan belt..1996 plymouth voyageur?

  • The 3.3L & 3.8L engines are driven by single serpentine belt. The belt tension is maintained by an automatic tensioner. The belt operates the alternator, water pump, air conditioner and power steering.
  1. Raise the front of the vehicle and safely support it with jack stands. This is not essential but makes it easier to remove the splash shield in the next step.
  2. Remove the right front splash shield.
  3. Use an open end wrench to rotate the bolt clockwise on the tensioner which releases the tension on the belt. A socket will be too long and the socket wrench will bear against the wheel well preventing adequate rotation. The belt routing diagram is located on the care frame near the front of the hood on the passenger side.
  4. Remove the belt and install a replacement.
  5. Proper belt tension is maintain by dynamic tension
  6. Reinstall the right front splash shield then lower the front of the vehicle.

Note: It is best and saves time to use a serpentine belt tool kit . It costs about $30.00.

My water pump went on my 98 plymouth voyager how much will it cos

You don't mention what engine you have ( there are 4 cyl, or 2 v-6 choices 3.0L or 3.3L available for that year). The water pump costs anywhere from $50 to $80, depending where you buy it, labor is supposed to take about one hour (access to the water pump is through the wheel well, after removing the plastic liner). There are other things that can raise the cost: how old is your coolant? This is a good time to have it changed if it needs it, what is the condition of the serpentine belt? It has to be removed to replace the pump, so again, if it needs to be changed, this is the time to do it. Dealers are charging about $100 an hour in my area, private garages less, and there will be additional charges for 'environmental' concerns, which is basically properly disposing of parts and fluids. So, the best thing to do is check with your local dealer and service stations and get an estimate on the work, and if anything else is needed (coolant, belt, etc) for a price in your area. With the economy not doing well, there should be plenty of repair facilities eager to give you an estimate. Good luck.

Where is the water pump located on a 99 plymouth voyager, 3.0Lit?

It is driven by the timing belt. You'll need to support the front of the engine, remove the mount and timing covers. The pump sits in the center between the heads and has a tube running into the back of it that sometimes is difficult to get out. If you are uncomfortable with setting up the timing belt you may want to have a professional do the job.

2000 plymouth grand voyager 3.3 V6, loud noise in serpentine belt area

remove belt and check the pulleys. this belt routing is odd and its very tight. i have seen many failed tensoner pulleys on these. it should spin smoothly and quiet. and grinding or bumpyness in it and i would replace it. check all pulleys while your there. they are not expensive.

good luck,
