i have the same exact problem it just happened to me a few days ago and my sunroof is stuck open

I had unplugged every wire inside my drivers door side to see why the door would not open, then decided not to go any further to avoid any damage. After plugging every cable, my car would not star. The radio was ok and the doors were ok but everything else was not.

preshilakra is correct, there is a control moelue under carpet and water will contaminate both the control unit and wires.

Hi, check under driver front carpet if any water sign and inspect wires around that area.

Check alarm module! it's located under the rug in driver side. It may need to be replace. Also check fuses and battery!

How to exit Radio Safe mode on my passat

Hi
Wiih most radio units....If you have the proper code and have NOT tried more than 15 times to enter an incorrect code....you should be ok.
Turn OFF ignition switch and remove the key. Switch OFF interior lights. Switch ON Radio unit and SAFE will appear.
Leave everything alone for a period of ONE HOUR. During this time NO power (no matter how small) should be drawn from the battery. This is why the interior lights MUST NOT come ON when the door is opened. Trunk should also remain closed. In the event of any power been drawn from the battery in this time...You must start all over again.
Radio should after this time return to standard mode...Usually 4 flashing bars. Then enter your code. Dont forget to lock in the code and all should be fine
All the best with it
John

Lights and sunroof

I can not seem to get any of my interior lights to work in mine either (I bought it that way). I also have problems where my electric windows don't work. I was just told that it is possible the wires under the driver side floor mat are bad (it collects water or something). I will try and see if I can figure out what he means and if it helps I will let you know.
