Question about 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer
This issue has been going on for awhile but just seems to get worse. I have an automatic but when car is accelerating from one gear to the next it kicks back or sputters like it does not want to change gears. Also when just idling it sputters as well.
I have done all the recommended tune ups. Just changed the spark plugs and had a transmission flush. Not sure what else to try.
My Lancer was doing the same thing and i had a tune-up and got a new catalytic converter but it was my ignition coil that was bad. Maybe this can help you.

Try changing the servo motor drive and adjusting the position of the ignition coil, it worked with me the same condition

I just had my ignition coil fixed as well. But, when i throw it into neutral im still having rpms close to 1000. From what i remembered before i had my issue, in neutral my rpms dripped to basically 0. After having the sputter problem fixed im worried that i still have an rpm issue any ideas?
