Do you mean the starter will not engage? or is the starter engaging and turning the motor over and it will not start, if it is this it can many different thing and I can help you with it too. But if it is the starter try this,The motor does not have to be hot, but the starter is. To check this find the starter drive it and when it will not start put cold water on it from the hose is best, if it then starts it the starter.

New Battery/starter and still wont crank.

car wont crank or car wont start? I would say your battery cables are bad,, acid gets in from battery and erodes internal cable parts... need a Meter to check it out.. put the meter on battery while someone tries to start it, if the voltage drops from 13.5 to 10 then it is trying to turn over, I always have the new starters tester before I leave a store, they are remanufactured in Malaysa and they use old parts in most of them..

My truck cranks but wont turn on what should i look at

ric, I was just going to post about this problem. I was getting ready to leave in my Silverado and something just didn't feel right, I can't explain it, but I started out any how. I made it about one half of a mile and it died. It was snowing and way cold, so I walked home, got the car and when I was on my way to Lowes with my Father in law, we pulled it home. I waited for the snow to go away and popped the hood and just looked at it. I went with my gut and it was the same problem I have had with it for years. I removed the distributor cap, (do we still call it that)? any how, I cleaned all the contacts, took the pick up out and cleaned it too. I used a wire brush, and cleaned it out with compressed air. Fired right up. I have again had this problem for years, and have tried many different brands, I think now I'm gonna try a performance cap. What can I lose? I hope this helps.

The theft system wont let me turn on my car it only cranks but wont stay on

You could try resetting the computer. The car maybe in lockout mode. Try turning your car over….leave the ignition on. Wait exactly 10 min. Then try turning over again….again leave the key on. Wait exactly 10 min and do it a third time….this time the car should start…maybe run a lil rough while it relearns the processes of your vehicle again. It is important to wait the exact 10 min each time. You will probably need a battery charger or a set of jumper cables because if your car goes low during this process it will not work. Good luck and I hope this works.
