Question about 2000 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
There is a plastic part in the linkage from the electric solinoid to the trunk release. The key activates the same solinoid but if you turn the key with more force it will activate the trunk release using a mechanical hook-up. If you remove the carpet covering from the inside of the trunk lid behind the key hole you will see the broken part.

If u have key locks on your back seats u can access latch. push it with a stick and it will open
