Re: 2002 Buick Century auto door unlock requires
It may be failing contacts in your remote; these are normally little carbon buttons that can either get fouled with contaminents or wear out if made too thin.
You may have to replace the remote to regain normal function.

While I don't have a specific solution to your complaint, I did find a site that lists many, many service bulletins related to braking problems on the 2002 Buick Century. Why not take a look to see if any of these complaints sound like yours.
are you trying to replace a head gasket? if you are, I would pick up Haynes auto repair books and it will give you step by step with pictures. Its a great investment to have for the next repair. replacing a head gasket require tools and time, for being 1st time and little mechanical incline it will not be one or two days affair. Lots of work but it can be done.
You will need to take the car to a dealership to have the service department unlock the radio for you. They have a special code to unlock the radio and then you are required to change the code to one that you will remember. An appointment should not be needed because this takes about 5 minutes. I do not remember the code, sorry.
i dont see this as a major or even minor problem, why is it bothering you? if you wanna idle your car in drive whats the point? if your just waiting for someone to come in, put it in pak and the door will unlock BY THEMSELVES, sounds good to me, and then after the person jumps in put in in drive/reverse.... or u can simply leave it in gear THEN unlock it, the back doors dont have power lock button so they have to do it manually or if youre in park they dont have to do it at all. its a nice feature 1 in a million would actually not like this feature
