02 escalade, vehical stalls at low idle

Usually turning into parking spot. Volt meter drops from 14v-12v, then stalls.
Also notice slowing down for stop light, as soon as I applied on brakes the volt meter drops from 14v-12v and sometimes stall.

    I'll try that thanks, I was thinking the alternator, because when I drive for the a short time like going to the gas station and have to suddenly step on the brakes the idle starts to be unusual and stalls, and I notice the volt meter drops suddenly. I day going to home depot turning into drive way and it had a bend in the road slight incline, just in the middle of the bend the truck stalls.

    I have the same problem when in my neighborhood and turning the corner slowly, it stalls and the turns off. The voltage level drops too. It's very aggravating. I was told to get a tune up and that should do it.

    I tried everything that Edgar suggested and more. My Escalade Ext still does the same. I also cleaned mass air sensor. Any other ideas?

If it has over 40,000 miles on it change the drive belt and have the alternator tested and also make sure all of the vaccum lines are on and in place

My cluster all lights come on and gages fluctuate while driving

so what works and what not.
so far we have cluster issues
does car drive, ok day and night.
and all accessories?
did engine stall driving?
did Head lights dim? on, driving?
my guess is the engine stalled or idled below 300rpm
and the ECU went to Key on self test mode, (they all do that)
watch the RPM guage? see that needle, ?
if it goes below 300 rpm that is engine stall.
or worse
This cars cluster is really just a digital display
so if the PCM cant talk to the cluster, the cluster will go nuts.
for freeze.
We use a scan tool to see whats up.
or use the cluster self test covered in the shop manual.
the cluster has 2 fuses that can be cracked/loss or corroded.
the cars battery can go weak.
if the charge/battery light glows, engine RPM good
then the alternator systems is failing
if the volt meter (if opted) in cluster drops below 14v, and engine is still running, the same, alternator system failure
or even a loose belt at the alternator.
if the battery voltage drops too low , all electrics go nuts.
and engine stalls.
what dies first with low battery , is luck of the draw....
so what was battery voltage
and engine RPM at the point of failure.??????????

02 caravan will start and stay running as long as my foot is on the gas but as soon as i take my foot off the gas it dies

using a digital volt ohm meter test the throttle position sensor. if it has a dead spot at idle position it will stall. also if the throttle plate is dirty it can cause a stall at idle and all you have to do is clean it.

Shuts off when a/c,lights & radio are on like the alternater is bad but no engine code & batt & alt test fine

Hook up a volt meter and watch your voltage when sitting idle and at 2,000rpm while doing each of the following (separately). First turn on the lights, then AC with max fan speed, then wipers.

With a good alternator at idle, it should be around 14v. It should have minor drop with the lights and quickly get back to 14v, when the AC and wipers are turned on it may drop to 13.5v at the lowest.

With a bad alternator at idle, it will probably drop below 13.5v with just the lights, and below 12v with everything else.

At 1,800-2,000rpm there should be virtually no voltage drop more than 2-3secs for the ECU to compensate and command more power from the alternator as this is the peak operating RPM.

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like a faulty voltage regulator, it"s 1 unit with the alternator, change the alternator, also the alt. supplies juice to the ignition switch, distributor abd plugs, thus a rough idle due to bad alternator.

The charging system is doing its job It seems to have an electrical short which is draining the batt. If u have the know how to ck & repair electrical shorts then go after it, if not, take it in.

Engine stalls at low rpm

Just advise maybe the plugs or a sensor could be bad it could be getting to much gas
