I have a 2000 Grand Jeep Cherokee, I was driving along the freeway maybe doing about 60mph when my jeep suddenly jerked, when it did this my emissions light came on. I pulled over in a parking lot checked all my fluids oil, transmission fluid, everything seemed okay, as I was getting back on the freeway I watched the R PMs that was fine and my emission light went off. After driving for about 5 minutes it did it again and my emissions light came back on, I did notice this time it seemed to be in the rear where this Jerking/ Bucking came from can anyone help??? PLEASE

Jerking when accelerating

we cant drive car, so jerking is not clear to a non driver.
see>?
first off , ill guess there is no odd noises.
and that means jerking can be 2 things (sure more but)
engine jerks, does it only?
or transmission slips then stops slipping resulting in a jerk.

get it serviced, with persons that can drive and experience this live.

Occasional jerking movement at high speeds

That's a tough problem to solve online...could be from fuel contamination (usually water), ignition shutting off for a second or throttle position sensor with internal wear. (internal switch problem) Or a problem with converter lock-up in transmission or trans control. Or, a million things in-between. Check codes first and see if anything helpful is in there, do some "wiggle tests" on wiring to see if engine falters when running, Have fuel checked for water, and have trans checked for good electrical connections. Largest problem is that even the best equipment will not be able to find a fault if it's working while being tested. Yours is the kind of problem that shops dread...it takes a lot of testing and a bit of luck to find and fix, and if they can't it makes them look bad.
Could also be that I read this wrong and perhaps jerking is in steering etc?
