Question about 1997 Ford F150 Regular Cab

1 Answer

We changed the brakes, routers and bearings on my 1997 Ford F150. The next time we drove it the brakes didn?t work well at all. At these points a good friend noticed we need to change the calipers, which were very bad. We are still having problems coming to a stop at a slow speed. The ABS light comes on sometimes. Any help so we don?t have to pay $75.00 to hook it up to an ABS system.

On the Fords, the most likely problem is the rear ABS sensor in the rear end. With out paying the $75 to be sure though it is just an educated guess.

1997 ford f150 2wd, anti lock rear. I replaced brake pads on both frt. Now one side is dragging. Wheel bearings seem to be ok - no slack. Would my rotor be warped, causing the heat up? Also - all I seem to...

take a good look over of the calipers ,not to throw out the fact something eilse is going on , yes bearings are called inner and outter and some times inboard and out board ,but with that said you should be able to find them , rotors are cheep try to fin good quality replacements I have found this is very true.

Front end grinding noise in Ford f150. It isn't

You may have wheel bearing issues or if you have a 4x4 the u-joints on the front axle may be needing some attention. I would start by inspecting both for signs of wear and replace them if necessary. This is pretty straight forward mechanical work but get a repair book for your specific truck and read up on both procedures before starting. I use Chilton for my vehicles and it seems to be one of the best with to the point information.
Good luck.

98 Ford F150 w/4.6l Wont start. Hear fuel pump click. Have pressure on fuel rail. Pulled #1 plug from head and plugged back into wire. Grounded plug and cranked. No spark. Changed wires 4 and 7 four days...

have diagnostic codes checked to see if you have a cam or crank sensor fault. make sure fuel pressure is at the required pressure, just testing to see if you have fuel at the valve is not enough. replace all spark plug wires. if you replaced two then all are just as old and even when they "look good" does not qualify as "they are good". Replace coil pack. start up drive away happy

No brake lights or turn signals on a 1997 ford f150 4.6l v8 ext cab automatic whats wrong?

Did you check the fuses for both of them ?

Do the parking lamps work ?
- If not check the ground on the bulb connector.

When was the last time you changed the bulbs ? ( Could be the element is blown out ).
