Question about 1995 Isuzu Rodeo

3 Answers

When I put battery terminals on battery, signal lights flash on and off like the hazards are on and you can hear a clicking sound in the dashboard every time the lights come on and also the cigarete lighter light goes on and off as well as the p for park and if you shift into drive the D will flash on and off?????????? Oh yeah and sometimes the doorbell chimes like the door is open when the key is in the ignition but the door is shut it. Everything happens in unison like every second? Any ideas maybe the alternator isnt putting out enough juice??

start a new post, never piggy back ,
    even 7 year old posts.
the Immoblizer lamp glows, to tell you
    key fail (or thief breach)
and this kills dead the starter motor.

the relay can be hacked easy to bypass this feature. (a hack)

Hah, definitely not the alternator. More likely suspect is the wiring harness.

The OP never once said security system.
His is lost power, just that, (weak power )
all modern cars the computers go nuts (flash and worse) with a weak battery. (discharged)
so it's just a weak battery or installed backwards.
in fact even the IMMO box (one more puter) will go nuts too, if battery is low.
HACK 101: 95 Rodeo ONLY.
the hack is easy (i post this to answer others chiming in on this HACK that i know)
see that blue wire, there, ground it, and IMMO will never ever, kill stater again.

By seeing your profile pic, you are clearly one track minded. So when I offer a suggestion to try to help someone you could clearly be so inconsiderate as to tell me to put that on another new post.. I dont have a clue what an immo is. I am not a mechanic I was searching for help when I saw this and thought I would suggest the security system since ours was doing the same except flashing a light that says SECURITY!!!

    sorry, Krisy,
    what car, a 1995
Is your car a Rodeo in USA?
is car with auto trans or stick shift.
    is car with 4wd?
is car with gas or diesel
    which engine?
I take it the engine don't start.?
like our OP had in 2009
and worse the stater motor is silent when the key is turned to the start position.?
does you car have the security option?

below is the option seen in the 1995
schematic, this device allows the starter to crank, the engine and start the engine.
if its not happy, the starter is dead.
and the security lamp tells you this, stuck on it will be.

i have the full drawing but will not fit here.
my avatar is my wife back in 1968.
sorry you dont like it .
    and to answer others, here,
    on TOPIC, IMMO.
    do defeat it (hack)
just do as the drawing clearly shows.
ground the blue wire and IMMO will never again block engine cranking,.
easy plessy Japaneezy! the golden easy years.

when did car last run ok, last week , last year. (try a known good charged battery yet>?)
here are the basics, since you told me the battery was removed for unknown (and key) reasons.
The post can be reduced to cars 12vdc power system is dead. (weak)
1: battery not any good, (lugs corroded)
2: battery only discharged, so charge it.
3: battery attached backwards. oops a daisy.
4: jumper cable starts, does that work.?
as see on AAA tow truck drivers... watch them?
5a: yes, cranks(or starts) bingo battery is and was dead.
5a: no start, now>? see IMMO lamp above, checks. or hacks.
6: if IMMO (immobilizer is generic name) is unhappy (its lamp) it must be addressed now.
7: if IMMO is ok we hot wire the starter.now.
if that passes, the starter is ok and the key line is dead.
8: if that test passes, we diagnose the dead key line, (park/neutral switch and the relay and friends.

I bet more complex than you imagined?

    short answer
call AAA tow.. and let them do their magic?

I have an 02 kia sportage. my signal lights come on but dont blink outside. no lights for the signal lights come on on the dash at all. also, no hazard lights.

If the 15A HAZARD fuse in the passenger compartment fuse box is OK, power is getting to the hazard function of the flasher unit. Pressing the hzard switch should cause the hazard lights to flash. HOWEVER, there is an electronic time and warning indication system module connected to to the hazard switch lead and that may be affecting things. If the 10A TURN fuse is OK, power is applied to the turn switch (with the engine in START or RUN) and you state you can select a right or left turn. HOWEVER, the RED/WHT and RED/BLU outputs from the flasher unit connect directly to the front and rear turn lamps and the instrument cluster turn indicators so you are not getting any flasher output. Again, that electronic time & warning indication system module could be affecting things

Is the hazards relay used part of turn signal?

The hazard switch is also the device that supplies the turn signal "flash". If you continue to hear the noise of the turn signal flashing when the turn signals off than the problem is the turn signal switch. It is grounding The purple wire from the hazard switch which makes the hazard switch think the turn signal is on. The fix for this is to relace the turn signal/multi-function switch. Typically they will start to go bad in stages. Your symptom is the first stage. Eventually either the turn signals or the brake lights will also sto working. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

My turn signals aren't working. The hazards work but when I put the lever up the turn signals don't go on. All I hear is buzzing but no clicking or flashing. Is there a fuse or something that I have to...

it sounds like you just have a bad flasher. its typically the size of a "c" battery and located under the dash on the driver side, no tools needed just twist it off and twist on a new one 5-15 dollars

No longer hear "clicking" sound from my turn signals and "hazard" lights (exterior lights and interior dashboard lights are working properly).

There is flasher unit generally under the dash board that makes the turn signals and hazzard lamps work. You probably need to replace that, it looks like a small box couple of inches long.

Indicaters not working, but hazard lights do

The turn signal and hazard lights work whit "flashers", sometimes this flasher is common, other is independet. Check under dashboard, if is not visible, you can hear the click sound when is activated.

Other review, your fuses for turn signal. More details and wiring diagrams can find in autozone.com (free register). Select the year, make, model for access.

Hope helped (remember rated this help) Good luck.

Blinkers not working on 99 saturn SL1 (hazards not working either). All Other electrical (radio, headlights, brake lights are working) appears ok,fuses are good. Whats the problem? Blinkers went out without...

Check/replace the flasher control unit.
This unit is usually located under the dashboard. (It's the unit that normally sounds the audible 'click- click ' when the indicators flash).

2000 Buick Regal LS 3.6 - Flashing Dashboard Lights/Wont start

Most likely it is the ignition switch (the key ignition switch) in the steering column ($100 at a dealer).

It may be a loose negative battery ground cable, too.
Check the negative battery cable where it conencts to the engine ground. It may be loose, corroded, damaged, or otherwise not making a good ground contact.

Add a grounding strap ($11 - AutoZone) from the engine to the chassis. That may help, but it's most likely the ignition switch.

Turn signals wont work fuses are good?

the hazard switch above the radio is your problem. if you put on your signals and they don't flash turn hazards on then off and they will flash. (changing this *** will fix your problem

Hazard Lights working. Indicators will not operate/flash

The Hazard and turn signals share the same relay module located in the dashboard behind the hazard switch. Remove the trim by prying from the sides (Either side of the Cup holder drawer and Card drawer). Pry the hazard switch assembly out from the dashboard. The relay is part of the hazard switch assembly.

Unclip the wiring terminal from the relay. replace with appropriate relay. Part costs under $50.00 delivered from Import Parts Specialists.
