My AC is running full blast at all time. When you turn the AC unit off runs full blast on defrost, front and bottom. The tempature will change just will not go to low.

You need a blower motor resistor. This will take care of the problem. It is located behind the glove box. Pull it down, and you will see a plug going into the heater box. Two screws, and that is it.

Ac clutch won't engage on a 1999 dodge grand caravan automatic

Tap the clutch with a hammer lightly while a/c is on full blast. If it still doesnt engage its time for a new one. Future reference in the winter keep your heat on defrost some of the time, it activates your clutch in the A/C compressor so the bearings wont seize when you go to turn it on, on a hot day.

The windshield defogger stopped working properly, IS THIS BECAUSE OF THE VERY LOW TEMERATURE WE HAD LAST WEEK IN toronto area?

cold is heavily laden with moisture and when your breath (warm) hits the cold screen then the glass fogs up. The answer is to reduce the amount of water vapour in the air inside the car and in effect that is what an ac does. It dehumidifies the air and the fogging lessens quickly. How to do this with out freezing . Simply run the heater on full blast with the ac unit running at the same time In some cars it is called climate control

Air conditioning not turning off

This is due to the fact that the solenoid relay is stuck and so the ac is not cutting off. You need to open the hood and check after starting the car. If the fan is cut , does the ac cut off, if not the relay or the solenoid of the compressor must be checked.

I have a 2005 GMC Envoy. I had a battery issue that has been fixed. I am not sure if this is related or that I just noticed. 1. My headlights stay on even though there is plenty of light outside/daytime...

1. The headlights are working as designed. These are Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and are on during daylight, but at a lowered intensity. At night they go to full intensity.

2. It sounds like the HVAC system may have lost calibration after the battery issue. Try turning all HVAC controls off or to their full CCW positions, then disconnect the battery for about 5 - 10 minutes. Reconnect the battery and don't touch any thing for a few minutes. If this does not make your AC work again, you may have a problem with one of the blend doors or its actuator motor. BTW, there is no vacuum operating the HVAC system, it is all electric.

My air conditioner doesn't work, but my heat and defrost work just fine. How can I fix that?

you could ha e a leak in your ac system. listen while your car is running with the ac turned to full blast and see if you hear the compressor cycling on and off. if you dont, hook up a set of ac pressure gauges and see if there is any pressure on the system. if nothing else try adding a can of refridgerant into the system. if unsure how to do so take it to an auto parts store and they can show you where you need to add the refridgerant and probably do it for you.

The heater resistor is probably faulty, its located near the blower fan

AC/Defroster issue

On most vehicles the AC comes on when the defrost is on to keep AC compressor/clutch from seizing up from non use during winter months.
