Question about Nissan Maxima
This would most likely be just a problem in the driver side door since the other doors open. There may be a broken power cord that is leading to the door that controls the locks. Or there could be something inside the door that is causing the lock to jam. When you try to unlock the door, open the driver side door and see if when you do it, it will make any sounds.

To fix the problem go to an authorized car dealer and have the car key replaced, and the new car key re-programmed.
This costs about $80/£50.

The control unit that handles door locking and unlocking is the Smart Entrance Control Unit. It is located behind the center console. It could be going bad or is getting a bad input signal from a door switch. It is also possible that the master control switch, on the driver side door, is going bad and feeding back a bad signal the control unit. The master control switch tends to get rain on it and causes some weird behavior.............
I hope this would resove your querry.
Any further questions or feedback, greatly appreciated.

The key must be out of the ignition in order to lock the doors with the
interior power door lock switch. If the key is in the ignition, the doors
will automatically unlock. If the doors automatically unlock with the key
out of the switch, then check the switch in the ignition lock cylinder for
sticking, or give it a shot of aerosol Lock-Ease or WD-40.
if still the problem then its not the remote problem or the battery
as someone with a factory repair manual and
electrical wiring diagram will have to diagnose the problem.
