The gas in the oil thing can only be fuel injector related.I would start by useing a good fuel injector cleaner(recomend BG 44k)and see if that helps. On the emission code I would start by replaceing the gas cap.Its pretty common.

Engine light on but car runs fine

The Check Engine light is most likely an emissions issue, not necessarily a malfunction that will disable the car.

Go to Auto Zone, Advanced Auto Parts, or other retail auto parts store and have them read the OBD codes for you. They will tell the story.

Good luck !

By the way, fix the easiest / cheapest codes to clear first, if there is more than one error code displayed - often the additional codes will clear up too.

2007 Volvo S60 2.5T engine system service required

Go by your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto store and have them connect a OBDII code reader to tell you what code the vehicle has stored. There are tons of OBDII code readers available that will even allow you to reset/clear the code. If the code comes back (check engine light on) you should look into the silution to repair the problem idenifed by the code.

Car is sputtering like got bad gas

have you recently purchased gas? that's 1st question. if you suspect bad gas, add 1 bottle of CLEAR rubbing alcohol to your fuel tank, this will dry up any water that has been added into your fuel tank. or perhaps your fuel injectors may be clogging up,suggest that you add lucas fuel injector cleaner to your fuel tank. you can find the lucas at any auto zone, advance auto parts store. or check your local auto parts store for it. add it to your fuel tank and run the engine,it cleans your fuel injectors as you drive the car,or run the engine.if this does'nt help,i suggest that you check for bad spark plugs,or bad spark plug wires. this will also make your engine you have a check engine light on? if so,auto zone or advance auto can code read your car for free. they will plug it up and tell you which sensor is bad or what you need to replace to make the light go off.narrow your search by ruling out this 1st {bad fuel} {spark plugs in need of replacement,or spark plug wires in need of replacement} hoping this helps, and thank you for choosing

Check engine light is on

Go to any local auto parts store (like Autozone or Schucks-O'Reilly) and they will run a diagnostic on your car that reads the check engine light for free. This test should turn-up a code that says where the problem is coming from.

My check engine light came on and the car started stalling. I checked the oil, and there was absolutely none. I put a container and a half; drove around for 10 minutes. The noises and stalling stopped, but...

Yikes! You say there was no oil, did the 1 and 1/2 quarts bring it up to the full mark? If it did, you still had about 2 and 1/2 quarts in the engine. This was certainly bad for the motor if it was making noises and stalling. If it sounds and runs well now, you may have dodged the bullet, however, the engine took a beating from being run low or dry. You may be able to reset the check engine light by just removing the negative battery cable for about 10 minutes, hook it back up, the light should reset. If it comes back on, have it checked (parts stores will check for free) to see what is going on that causes it to go on.

My Grand Vitara came on and went off after I got

There are to many things that can cause this problem. The good thing is the Engine light came on so the ECM has detected a problem. If there is an Auto Zone around your area, have the car scanned for the DTC codes a to address the issues the engine has. If there is no Auto Zone, other larger Auto parts store may scan for free and most auto garage now charge any where from $15.00 to $25.00 to scan since they know most larger parts store scan for free. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.

Service Engine Soon light - 2003 Pontiac Grand Am

The loose gas cap is a quick and easy check to perform, so try that first. The service engine light will remain on until the next "cold" start.
I would also recommend visiting your local Auto Zone and ask them to scan your car for trouble codes. They offer this service free of charge, write the codes down and respond back, I can let you know what they are and mean if you decide to have a technician fix the issue.
Good luck, let me know.
