    Guys, you are awsome.

My car wont start and I was trying to read the code from the ODCII.
I purchase a cheap ODC II reader at autozone and there was no connection eventough could read other cars.
Then I saw the comment about the ligther and all make sense. The lighter stop working time before but I do not smoke and I never used the ODC entrace before so I could not make the relation.
I check in the manual and the fuse of the lighter and the ODCII is the same. This is for a Ford Expedition 2004.
So I check the fuse and indeed was split, I change it and now both are working.
Now I have other problem, the ODC reader has link but comes with zero codes eventough the check engine light is lit.
I read in othetr site that some Ford 2003 cars need a special ODB code call ODB CAN, so now I checking, that.
Thanks to you all for make this information free.

Find your blown fuse and replace it. Not sure what circuit/s are on the same port though.

If the computer is working correctly, the problem is usually the cig lighter fuse.

If the truck runs then the issue is probably with the tester you are using and not the OBD2 connection under the dash. If it doesn't run at all then the engine computer is probably defective. Unless of course someone has been making "non-factory" wiring connections under the dash or in the engine compartment and then all bets are off.

My 2004 grand prix has 168,000 miles and now my service engine light is on

unsure of the issue here but if i am assuming correctly you want to know what can make it come on, well theres no short answer i would start with taking it and having the codes read on it, or you can do it yourself harbor freight has a obd2 scanner for 29.00 that will tell you the codes and you can go from there sorry i cant help beyond this, theres just so many things under the hood and other areas that can cause this issue

Volvo v70 abs light and mil light on. no coms with diagnostic socket, all fuses are ok. no 12v at diag socket, so no diag tools will work.

Are you plugging into the obd2 diagnostics port under the dash or the diagnostics port under the hood? You should be plugged in under the dash to read codes for the MIL / ABS light. Just a heads up as well most scanners you can buy from the part stores do not have the necessary program protocols to read European cars.

My obd2 plug is not working i check the fuse and it's good what can it be

lots of times the connectors wear or bend, try pushing on the connector and holding it there while you scan it, you can also test to make sure its getting power at the correct terminal on the obd2 connector.
