Yes. It is a good idea to change your timing belt on any vehicle at or before 70,000 miles. Heat off of the engine and time deteriorates any belt.

the 2003 ion has no timing belt ,,,good idea to replace timing chain and tensioner guides around 140 k miles,, these tend to fall apart and the chain will jump. if that happens the piston will hit the valves on the intake side and bend them , it will make for an expensive repair job ,,

SOURCE: saturn ion blower motor

lower settings as far as speeds for your blower motor go through a resister block to reduce the voltage your blower motor receives to make it turn slower. If it turns slow on high you would have to check the voltage at the blower motor, should be the same voltage that would be at the battery. There could also be material in the blower motor fan like things a mouse could have put there. Causes the fan to spin slower and also blocks the fins from pushing air. Any strange noises would be heard unless you have had the prob since you owned it and could not detect any changes. It could be even full of stuff and still
be in balance. but it could be a few other things.

SOURCE: how do you change the downstream oxygen sensor in

Downstream O2 sensor is the O2 sensor after the Catalytic converter. Jack the car off the ground so you can get under it, disconnect the wire leads and with a close end wrench. Snake the wire leads through and wrench and place the wrench one the O2 sensor and with a hammer, tap the wrench to break lose the O2 sensor from the exhaust pipe. Once the O2 sensor has loosen up, just remove and install the new O2 sensor. Reconnect the wire leads, start the car and listen for any exhaust leaks. Once no leak has been determined, Place car back on the ground and go for test drive. Check engine light should go off after three start up and car has reached it's operating temperature and DTC codes will be erased after 100start cycle. Good luck and be safe.
